Evgenia Medvedeva

As I posted on the Sailor Moon thread, and others have posted in various places:

I doubt if she could go back to Toronto. As I understand it, Canada has closed its borders to everyone except citizens, permanent residents, and "essential workers" from the US (like long-haul truckers delivering avocados, auto parts, and N95 masks).

The border restrictions were originally for 30 days, but have been extended for another 30 days.

Question would she be a permanent resident? Since at least for the next few years her main living country would be Canada?

I don't think she's lived there long enough. I think its 5 years

Permanent residence is an immigration status, like a US green card. You can get on the first day you enter the country, or after living here a period of time, or never. Permanent residence status + residence (1095 days of physical presence in Canada during the 5 years before applying) + some other requirements are required for citizenship.

Some skaters who train in Canada, like Katilyn Weaver, Lubov I., Piper Gilles have had permanent residence status (proof: they became Canadian citizens). Others, like Yuzuru Hanyu, don't. It's all about what you apply for and your intentions. I would be surprised if Evgenia has it, though it it possible.

One way to gain permanent residence status is to marry (and be sponsored by) a Canadian or be sponsored by a Canadian (or permanent resident) relative.

Okay, okay I’ll take one for the team and marry Evgenia

Medvedeva nation is doing a new poll. What is your favorite of the 5 performances, not necessarily your favorite program.

1. Nocturne 2018 Olympics
2. Anna Karenina. 2018 Olympics
3. Extremely loud 2017 WTT trophy
4. Sailor Moon exhibition 2017 WTT trophy
5. W.E. 2016 World Championships

I have to go with W.E. Because it was so amazing, and she was in 3rd after the short, so I was jumping up after this skate.

I also go with W.E., it was absolutely amazing and beautiful, it made me fell in love with Evgenia ❤️

hard choice, all 5 are great, but I go with Extremely Loud, for me this was absolutely unique programme

Anna Karenina for me, she put everything into that program and the moment at the Olympics was when I felt like she was maturing. I wasn’t even a full stan yet then, nor do I even really like this program that much, but she skated with a lightness and power that captivated the audience. This was the moment I saw a different side of her

I still can't watch that performance without crying.

Oh, hard to say. I think it's a tie between Anna Karenina at Olympics and W.E. at Worlds. Only difference is that I was in tears watching AK, while W.E. is the video I'll rewatch when feeling down, to put me in a good mood. There's such a triumphan energy to it...

Also while her jumps at Olympics were not as good as at Worlds 2016 (understandably so), I do think her SS/performance/projection were much better during the 2017/2018 season so...
Yeah I'll go with Anna Karenina. It was the performance of a lifetime.

But really my favorite performance of hers is RusNats 2019, the FS. It was such a turning point for her. And the way the crowd roared, and how she played the audience like a fiddle? Stuff of legends.

:agree: I agree with this whole post. :)

I'm so relieved to hear that. I really thought they stopped talking to each other, considering the fact, that i haven't heard anything about them together for over a year now.
