I am absolutely looking forward to the SP. I love the music, the choreographer is excellent - I expect it to be my most favorite ever!

Buttle did choreograph Zhenya's most beautiful and divine StSq of all time in Exogenesis. I'm so intrigued how a full program will look!!!

I have a feeling this might be her most iconic yet. This is the kind of music I've always wished Zhenya would skate to. And incidentally, the composer is Russian-Armenia, too!

I think I'm looking forward to the SP more. I'm happy Buttle did the choreo, but there is a small part of me that wishes there was a Ilya program this year, too. I'm probably alone in that thought

I guess I will be in the minority, but I’m more excited about FS I just really hope we get to see it it, it feels like the whole 2020 is going to be cancelled [emoji22][emoji22]

Charlie White commented during GPF that while Peng/Jin are fantastic, the music choice was a bit dated. And I kind of agree (I’ve never seen the show) but I’m curious to see her cut and interpretation. I also want her to do a split jump once during the program

I hope maybe what she means by Algeria is the whole album? I remember Tarakanova skated to Querer last year and I actually really liked it and I think it would fit good with Evgenia’s skating as well!

Querer sang by Francesca Gagnon is absolutely outstanding and if they decide to use the song, I hope it will be this one. There is newest version, but milder and not so passionate and powerful as Gagnon's.

That programme of Tarakanova really stood out and I also liked it a lot

I think nobody knows yet, but I hope it will be compilation and including Gagnon's Querer.
On the other hand, Gagnon's version is practically tango and could be considered repetitive :think:

we will have to wait to see , but I also start wonder now if it will be the Alegria album or the song.
Initially, when Zhenya announced it, I some how assumed it will be the song.

Maxim Kovtun posted two stories on his instagram where he defends Zhenya and scolds Russian media for spreading lies about Zhenya in regards to the Japan drama. He said that he has several Japanese acquaintances so he knows what is and what is not allowed in Japan and what is going on there compared to Russian media who use "one twitter user that has a cat photo as their avatar" as their source. He hopes that the journalists will grow a conscious and apologize to Zhenya.

"A few days ago a number of publications were launched in the Russian media aimed at discrediting our illustrious figure skater Zhenya Medvedev. I read the news, you see, "Japan wants Zhenya to leave there.”
I wondered how this could happen if she had an army of fans digging around a bit and was in little surprise that the Russian media made so many publications based on on one tweet some haters, which has a cat on the profile picture. Seriously? She assured that Evgenia violates quarantines there and walks around infects and trains on skating rinks.I have friends in Japan, and I know that skating rinks don’t work there right now. Like May 6th should open.But still decided. I also know that in Japan no one wrote anything like Zhenya in the media about her. But our valiant media decided to persecute their own athlete, citing a source, a girl with a cat’s profile picture.It seems to me that the Russian media are very guilty before Medvedeva.
I imagine how hard it was for her to read, but I also envy how strong she is. Maybe conscience wakes up and they apologize? I also marvel at the fact that the Russian media in all seriousness wrote to someone from the media that Medvedeva bought the Japanese and Catalas at a closed ice rink. Lord, in Japan it’s simply impossible to buy something underground.This is a country where people under a microscope follow each other, and where in general such things do not happen.How can you seriously write about this? If she trained, then she did it officially, and in a permitted place.I want to support Zhenya. And once again recall that figure skating is the most beautiful sport, and not the epicenter of bullying, negativity and fables. Peace for everyone!"

"Who prompted the publication of these articles?" We can guess, sure. But I'm pretty confident that most of us will have a good idea about the people that might have such an agenda. Especially after what's been happening the last two years - it's just another part of that "game". But this one could have more influence because it might potentially harm her chances for further work opportunities in Japan in the future. I will not comment any further on this Japan situation because I am furious and disappointed alike and to such a degree that I fear I will stop being polite. Let's just say that this incident and what I subsequently read in the RLT opened my eye about some people - especially those whom I didn't expect such behaviour (hiding meanness behind a nice mask, relying on unproven rumours and then painting themselves as the victims) from.

As for Evgenia herself: I am glad she is finally getting some support, better late than never. Now let's hope she stays off social media for a while. I know it's hard when she's already in self-isolation and can't train but I believe it's necessary.

I'm glad then that I did not read the RLT the past month. Don't wanna know what there was written....


2017 Worlds was such a good competition. I loved both of Zhenya's programs.

Guys, amongst the turmoil connected to Trusova, Zhilina and coach Rozanov moving to Pluschenko, something important came up:

Director of Sambo-70: “The only time that the transition to another coach was arranged correctly as it should be was the transition of Medvedeva”

This is direct and written refutation of the lies of Eteri that she didn't know anything and learnt from media abt the move to Orser and this is coming not just from anyone, but from the Director ...What a slip from his side I'd say...
