Whoop- so sorry! I just realized it was singles. I was so tired and I skipped over the singles bit. In that case: hanyu's in a bauer, kim's camel, yulia's spiral, kim's spiral(deep edge) and gershwin start.

I love that. Why don't we see upright sit spins anymore? Are they impossibly hard so skaters don't do them, or are they just so easy that it's not worth it to do in CoP?

TBH I'm not sure but which of here is the correct sit spin?

The left one for me looks to be really "sitting" though. And looks more paralleled and symmetrical.

Not that I don't appreciate a good pancake sit spin, but it seems so rare to see one in which the skater is actually sitting, in the normal sense of the word.

Mathman, I was going to mention Michelle's sit spin.

My recollection is that the position improved greatly as she matured.

The one you posted is a beauty.

An oldie, but a goodie:

Tai and Randy's pair spread eagles. (They typically transitioned this to pair Ina Bauer, but I can't find a photo).

This photo looks as though it is from their pro days. They were so elegant as a pair. I loved them.

Thinking back on Tai and Randy, I went back and watched some YouTubes of them.

Yeah, that time lacked some of the dynamism and extreme athleticism we see today, but man-o-man what a beautiful pair they were. Impeccable positions, glorious lines. Musical and bright. Worth the trip down Memory Lane.

She was 18 and he was 20 when they won their WC. The 1976 Olympics where they finished 5th... she was 15 and he was 17, and they were US Champs.

Yamaguchi and Galindo are the only US pair since then that have really grabbed my interest... Meno and Sand to a lesser degree, I suppose.

Samantha Cesario's spread eagles during her Carmen FS. What a creative way to weave an element into your choreo.

While editing down this 'best of 4CC' video project I found it to be such an emotional moment that I had to use both camera angles I had available and wound up showing it twice and even going so far as to slow down the already slow motion footage. Moments like this are what I look for in figure skating. Ina Bauers are my favorite move but can I just call this a cousin move? Maybe even a cousin that grew up next door and was just like a brother or sister? :)

Thank you Sam! That was beautiful!

I'm not sure if all sit spins demands the butt level lower than knee, but my search is different from what SkateFiguring found

https://books.google.co.kr/books?id=jPSNCdIZkJ4C&pg=PA108&lpg=PA108&dq=back-sit+spin&source=bl&ots=1LntTovRjd&sig=3jgwxbXNi9-LdwL-4baEJNbPRnY&hl=en&sa=X&ei=QJToVLKHL4q68gW83ILYAQ&ved=0CD0Q6AEwCA#v=onepage&q=back-sit%20spin&f=false

It's on p.108. Says "the left foot remains straight out in front of the body in a position that is ideally aligned in a straight line from the hip to the toe, parallel to the ice and the
level with the bent right knee"
