A few from Patrick Chan, off the top of my head:

Chopin LP - ends on one knee with one hand on his heart and the other hand upturned and outstreched, like he's giving the audience his heart. https://youtu.be/ZMWoPkP1cJk?t=293

Elegie SP - starts with his arms down at his sides but slowly raises them and turns around. The whole series of movements before the 4T+3T is worth watching. Patrick does so much but in such a simple way, and it all happens before he starts jumping. Thank you, Jeff Buttle, for envisioning this masterpiece, and Patrick for skating up to it!!!

Aranjuez LP - movements after the last spin through to the ending position. The movements fit the music so well and it's awesome how he goes to one knee and brings his arms down slowly as the music dies. :luv17: https://youtu.be/MZFcnmMql-U?t=311

Don't Worry, Be Happy Ex - at the beginning and at the end he lays down on a bench, relaxing. Bonus - this video starts with a lovely exchange with Kurt Browning that is hilarious! Sit back and enjoy the whole program. It's so much fun! :) https://youtu.be/6KpQ3_sV_eI

I just remembered this one from Patrick: Take Five SP, right after the StSeq, he does a butterfly (is that right?) directly into the end pose. This is also one of those rare programs that doesn't end with a combination spin. I love how much fun he had with this program!

I wish I had time to watch each and every one of these programs. But nope, not gonna happen!
But keep them coming! I'll get at least a sneak peek! :)

People, people, people....

*None* of these poses, but none of them, are as iconic, famous, or made as much of an impression on the sport as:

Torvill and Dean. Bolero. So famous, I don't need to link a photo.

Kneeling and waving their arms so the music didn't start.

And of course starting a cottage industry of dying on the ice.

You can list every pose that your favorite skater ever did. None had as much impact on skating as those two poses.

And you're the only one making a serious thing out of a thread that was started for fun and love of the creativeness that sometimes comes out of this sport.

No one is arguing that T/D Bolero isn't one of if not the most iconic of all poses.

Relax.

But then again, maybe elhenry's post had a tiny bit of tongue-in-cheekiness?

For communication, pixels are just so tricky...

I meant it as a little rant, not a big one. For those I break out the old lady cane:devil:

Although the original dying on ice from T&D is one of my favorite ending poses, as well as iconic:)

When Sasha Cohen was on, she electrified the arena and the at-home audience. Her Dark Eyes SP in Torino is still such an exciting program to watch, all these years later. Her ending position was gorgeous and right on the last note of music. Then the crowd erupted, and her own reaction was so joyful!!! :hap10: https://youtu.be/zduPx_Fe6Po?t=208

Here’s another good one from Patrick Chan: Four Seasons 2014 LP – he holds a deep edge (you can actually hear the blade dig into the ice) and then quickly turns into the ending position (on one knee with one arm upturned and outstretched and a big smile on his face when he skated well). https://youtu.be/32PycXMaCe0?t=277

Xue Shen and Hongbo Zhao always had beautiful starting and ending poses (and lovely costumes). I thought of Turandot and Nutcracker instantly. In this Ex, they ended with an amazing sequence of Throw 3S (GIGANTIC), carry lift, rotating pancake lift (great speed and air position), ending pose. So beautiful and powerful. And, the marriage proposal was certainly wonderful! They’re close together in a picture-perfect ending pose, then he gets on one knee, then she goes down to be with him, then he helps her up and puts his arm around her shoulder. :luv17:

I am enjoying this thread immensely. Thanks to all contributors!

I love both the opening and closing of this program. It's one of my favourite programs:
Lu Chen Skate America 1995
https://youtu.be/JLmmXliGTLc

Nice ending pose:
1995-1996 SC Shishkova/Naumov SP
https://youtu.be/sgn17BD5RmQ?t=2m43s

Their 1995 lp also had nice opening and closing poses:
Shishkova & Naumov (RUS) - 1995 European Figure Skating Championships
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QCfpDMlMZ4

One closing pose you won't see that often:
Phiippe Candeloro (FRA) - 1994 Lillehammer, Figure Skating, Men's Free Skate
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orynB-3b1lI

Love this ending pose:
John Curry 1976 Innsbruck Olympics LP
https://youtu.be/z79TMsYRnEc?t=5m

Opening pose:
Isabelle Delobel & Olivier Schoenfelder 2006 Euros FD - Flight of the Dove / Carnival in Venice
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krEW4c_OJ_I

Underrated program of Kwan, nice beginning and ending:
Michelle Kwan 1997 Worlds LP
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-oqwopZta8

I like the ending:
Alexander Abt 1998 Euros sp
https://youtu.be/K7uryIAxbIA?t=3m2s

Opening and ending:
Kati Winkler & René Lohse GER - 1999 European Championships FD
