ok from twitter apparently the focus of the new episode is Victor reminiscing on and assessing Yuri's rivals for the GPF?? I think it could be a glorious episode. I need more Victor tbh. He is by far my favourite character but he still is a big enigma. We need more backstory from him. How he got into skating, his family, his relation with coach Yakov, his career highs but also the struggles. I want it all.
and also too see him skate again. pretty please.

Ah, small price to pay for having the anime... And, just think, it'd stop if a character truly based on Yuzuru appeared.

Actually, it might be the last thing you need, and they might be irrtating for you but I, for example, would enjoy all the hoopla. The tumblr would go crazy, there'd be a new influx of Hanyu fans which is always a good thing in my books. More people to talk to, more impressions.

It'll never happen as I don't think the anime creators would involve an active skater, but from the anime creators and Japanese figure skating POV, it'd be a genius move. It'd mean higher ratings for the anime, better sales of DVDs, which would mean green light for next seasons, which would mean higher interest in figure skating, higher ratings for FS competitions on TV, higher interest in FS shows etc etc. Combining two fandoms is a commercial goose laying golden eggs. Moot point, anyway.

I'm really not surprised at the number of YoI-Hanyu fans, though, as Yuzuru's aesthetics is very much in line with anime. It was evident even before YoI ever came into being, from the number of Hanyu fans who were into anime.

To be honest, to me it sounds like a throw-away filler they do midway through longer anime series, with 3/4 of already-used scenes, with nothing new happening. The "Previously on Yuri on Ice" a whole episode long. I hope not.

As far as I know, there are no legit spoilers about this show apart from the summary of the next episode, which concerned Victor not knowing Yuuri's decision, while taking in the sights. Everything twitter spit out before was fake. I would definitely like to know more about Victor too though but I am keeping my hopes in check. I think our best shot is just that, that a dam breaks once Yuuri's plans become known and he spills something. /e.w.

I just love how different Yuri's off-ice look is to his one-ice one. Everyone goes on about Victor and his looks, but I can see how Yuri has been low-key charming him with just his whole demeanor.

I don't even know where to start. Yurio's rabid fangirls. JJ's total arrogance. Chris and Victor skinny dipping and then both jumping into bed with Yuri. Yuri and Victor shopping. THE RINGS YOU GUYS THE EFFING RINGS I WAS SO COMPLETELY DEAD the way Victor treats it as an engagement. The way the other skaters are so happy for them except JJ of course because he's a jerk. THE BANQUET STORY HAHA. Yurio actually kicking Victor which is not something I ever thought he'd dare to do. VICTOR BACKSTORY POV AND FEELINGS. ALL THE VICTOR FEELINGS. Whatever Yuri thinks, it's clear that Victor is in love with him.

Actually this isn't fan-service any longer. Their relationship is a genuine plot point in the anime and it's progressing as any other would. It's what I love about it.

I am happy you got to see it karne! I was thinking about you actually and yes, this episode killed the whole fandom. Oh and technically, it's not, for foreigners, unless at least one is a resident in Spain but anime. We can totally handwave that :agree2:

The reveal at the end about Victor and the party was for me, totally out of nowhere and absolutely, gloriously perfect. Yes, he's very much in love with Yuuri and he fell a long time ago! Ah. I am going to throw such a major wobbly if they don't give us a proper happy ending, you have no idea !!
