Figure Skating Anime

What I got was that Yurio was into Victor and Yuri was in his way (because of what happened at last season's GPF banquet) and after getting to know Yuri he shifted his interest from Victor to Yuri but then the Kaz skater comes along... It's all a big mess :palmf:

Sounds perfectly shoujo.

I'm glad you guys could figure Yurio out because the only thing I know that motivates him is his ambition, his loyalty to his family (grandfather), his cute impatience with things that annoy him, and his mean exterior that made the Kaz guy be the first person ever to ask him to be his friend. I also like that despite his rough demeanor, he recognized all the people who helped him this season, including Yuko, even if it was just to tell them to watch him and let him show them what he can do.

I hope season 2 has more episodes or cuts down on the competition a bit just because I really would like more character and plot development outside of seeing the programs that take up so much time out of the episode.

Yeah I really thought the creators were expecting only one season at first - certainly hoping for a season two but not for sure, until it got so popular and season two is very likely and so the ending of season one got changed...

I've got to wonder if that actually explains some of the weirdness in scoring in the last two episodes, if that wasn't the ending they first envisioned but then had to scramble to change?

And I don't know! I am not sure about one to the other but I really thought this was why he was so angry, he was in love with Yuuri? This kind of explains the anger at Victor too, after the engagement. And then wanted to make sure to keep Yuuri skating? But I'm not sure. Mess, yes

Could not agree more and I think the last two episodes especially suffered the worst due to this, especially this one.

Kubo was throwing her inner Tatsuki fangirl at us the entire episode and basically trolling everyone who still thinks Yuri is mostly or all based on Yuzuru.

I'm still laughing.

And she's totally not over Tatsuki retiring!

Hahaha that what I am thinking too, this ep is like the way she cope with trauma of Tatsuki's retirement.

I feel a little dissatisfied with the ending, I start watching this anime because of sport aspect but end up wanting the romance to have more role hahahaha (I means real romance not fan service :dev2:), thus I feel there are so many unfinished story.

BTW, it seems like JJ score is a way this anime creator satire the real fs scoring hahahaha .

I really hope the 2nd season picks up where this one left off to go into Nationals, Europeans, 4CC (which was mentioned multiple times throughout the show), and Worlds.

Regarding Worlds, didn't the show start with Viktor's FS from Worlds?

That was pretty much what I expected. Yuri to be on the podium but not win narrowly. If he won there wouldn't be a reason for a second season. JJ on the podium is bafflingly. As is Otobek not being on it at least.

I do wish they focused more on the Victor/Yuri drama instead. The competition felt like methodical. No drama, just one skater after the other. I wasn't invested in it as I was before with the CoC or CoR. And it felt rushed as well.

No surprise there was never any verbal confirmation about Vixtor and Yuri's relationship. Just the typical read between the lines and fake outs. "Good luck" rings. Riiiiiight.... :rolleye: Iy will never get to the level that I want it, but what they delivered was so touching and addictive. I'm so in love with these too!

I have no idea how Victor is going to compete and coach, but I'm willing to see them try! This was a fun series!

But I still demand protocols! :angry1:

I didn't like the scoring in GPF but I enjoyed the whole series more than I had expected. Now I'm curious how Victor is going to do the coaching being a competitive skater himself.

This is only my speculation but if we have season 2, it will be in fall next year and they will do GP series again because 4CC is also aired on Fuji TV every year.

Hahaha, figure skating fans wishing there was less skating!

It seems to me like the creators made very obvious that Yuuri and Victor are a couple but they didn't want to show any turning points of their romantic relationship because it's supposed to be a sports anime and not a romance.

Not sure if this video was posted here, but this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuJTUZjxEBk

Picks up some subtle similarities between the anime and real life and in a good way, it is not claiming any of the skaters is one particular skater from the real life. It points out at the Viktor Torino medal as well as the Johnny flower crown, Yurio similarity with Gachinsky and Yulia (especially his bags!) and the Yuzuru/Tatsuki/Daisuke inspiration for Yuri!

Mind blown that Viktor and Yuri's romantic number together is basically Tessa and Scott's FD!

well some fans stain the fandom, I hate what they did to Johnny Weir tumblr

I'm not surprised.. On Plushenko's Facebook page some weeks ago the fans sent a message to Plushenko to leave his wife for Yuzuru Hanyu... And the Twitter was so loud of this post.. So stupid.
