Hi,

In case anyone wants to know I had my Everglides appointment recently and it went really well!

So firstly, my feet are not as wide as I thought and thankfully I did not have to get customs! The fitter was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I got to try on a variety of boots and I really liked that I could take my time with each boot and describe to them exactly what I felt. I really appreciated this because it takes me a bit of time standing and moving in the boot to feel where the pressure or pinching is. Sometimes I would have two different boots on each boot to really feel the difference between them. Risport was the only brand where I could feel a real heel lock which I have never felt before. Also, i tried on a higher Jackson boot and again I could feel that familiar squeeze at the front despite from the outside the toebox looking bigger than the risport, so looks can be deceiving and really you need to try the boots on in real life.

Anyway, I ended up with the RF3 Pro with custom insoles and I am so pleased with it. I love this boot so much, it feels like it’s made for my feet!! My toes are not squashed from the side and also not at the front. It feels like my foot can’t move in a good secure way but without pain and tightness in the toebox. It’s just the best thing I’ve ever skated in. My second toe has never been happier because it gone through a lot in the debuts. I waited to try them on the ice before I came on here to write my thoughts and I honestly can’t believe the difference. I am still getting used to the difference in heel pitch because the debuts feel so high in comparison. I’m also still breaking them in but I can already feel how much easier some things are to do. I’m still in shock that after my session yesterday I just walked away with no pain in my toes and feet and could just get on with my day. I’m so happy! Also I want to really thank everyone for their help.
Thank you for the update! And whoohoo!! I am so happy for you and that the RF3 Pro worked out for you!

Happy skating! :laugh3:

 Delighted to read this! My Risport RF1 boots have a message for your new Risports: "Isn't it nice to feel so loved?"

Glad you’ve found the right boots!

I was wondering if you still have the arch pain as in the Electras? Also, did you change size vs the Electras?

Hi,
Thank you!

No, the arch pain is completely gone and thank goodness for that because it was a major issue. I definitely think a part of this is because of the custom insoles.

Also yes I am now in a 240 not 235 however the 240 definitely feels like the right size for me. I actually do remember the fitter for the Electra being unsure whether to put me in a 235 or 240 at the time and I don’t know if she just put me in a 235 because she didn’t have the stock because I remember her being quite hesitant. Also, she put both me and my sister in the same size boots while my sister feet are smaller than mine. (My sister also got measured by everglides and fits perfectly in the 235).

I really recommend you visit everglides they really know their stuff. My only regret is not going there in the first place, it could have saved me money, pain and bunions 😭

Forgot to ask you. Just curious. What width are your boots now? In your first post, you mentioned:

so I went to a more reputable fitter who measured my feet and told me the width of one of my foot is a triple E and the other a quadruple E....

Forgot to ask you. Just curious. What width are your boots now? In your first post, you mentioned:

They are the widest stock one which I believe is classified as a C width. Also forgot to mention I did heat mold them and had to slightly punch out around my bunions which contributed the most to the width of my feet.

I think the width measurements I got before was based solely on the Jackson width chart and maybe the same measurements can be considered a different width in different boots and brands? I must say in general from my own experience the Jackson charts is confusing and kind of inaccurate when it comes to conversion to UK and European mm (length wise) but not sure about the width. All I know is my foot still felt squashed from the sides even when I tried a Jackson in my actual size (which my debuts weren’t). It does say on their chart “skates are made on a North American last, euro sizing is not exact” so maybe it’s just that. I have noticed as well that the Risport fits the middle of my feet so much better hugging it all the way to my narrow heel. Jackson on the other hand felt way too tight literally everywhere apart from my heel which was always lifting.
