I’m wondering if Sergei rozanov should have stayed wit the Eteri camp... they held aliona k. Up on the PCs mark... it look like she gave up after the combo (bummer).... but I wonder what’s happening at the angels of plushenko?? Anyone kno why the zhlina girl left rozanov?? Who else other then kostornaia is he coachin? He was doin really well with the Eteri girls the past few seasons from 2018 season...

I really hope she does too, but unfortunately, even with a perfect skate, her technical content probably won’t make it against Kamila’s or even a clean 3A from Tuktamysheva.
Aliona might be able to pass elizaveta on he free ... is kamila and daria both aren’t eligible yet for world correct?

Thank you! It’s like a unnecessary bloodbath for folks that aren’t eligible.... so safe to the free skate comes down to elizaveta and aliona and possibly samodurova(altho I don’t think the Russian federation have her in mind this season)

I didn't say she did wrong. I just think she can do better. This time, she was on Daria and Kamila level SS wise. As the judges i would score Kamila SS the highest this time.

Kostornaya’s problems started before she left Tutberidze’s. Whatever they are, they could be fixable with time, or not... look at Tuktamysheva, she is still in the mix. But it could well be that COVID cost Kostornaya that only chance she had at world title, which would be sad.

From what I understood when I was watching some interviews a while back by Trusova, Shcherbakova and Kostornaya, it felt like Kostornaya seemed like the most difficult person to work with, and also might require more "pushing". It's possible she doesn't have the fire or motivation to work as hard as Trusova or Shcherbakova. Actually, when I read the interviews I at the time thought that it wouldn't be very surprising if Kostornaya left team Tutberidze relatively soon, but certainly didn't see Trusova leaving coming.
I think it was, how Kostornaya complained about how difficult everything was, while Trusova and Shcherbakova seemed to have a better attitude.

So I caught up on Aliona, Liza and Sofia and I have thoughts on their programs:
Sofia S's program is so different, I love it! Sadly the judges totally don't agree, I feel like they're trying to push her out of the sport and it's clearly effecting her. She looks so sad when she skates now. It's heartbreaking to see.
I don't like Aliona's new program...like at all. I understand that this is the sort of thing Lakernik and the Russian Figure Skating Fed are looking for? But it's so blah, it's the same program we've seen a million times before, it doesn't stand out at all. The dress is nice, but it looks too much like Kamila's, the whole program looks like a poor imitation of Kamila's. It really hurts Aliona I think, I mean I'm sure there were other factors at play, but she looked like she was really having fun with her original SP no matter what a lot of people thought about the music, you can't say that about this SP.
Liza's new program doesn't thrill me either, I thought Spartacus was brilliant! I can't believe they ditched it
However, Liza unlike Aliona does look like she's enjoying it.

Kamila has nice speed and flow, but really weak edges which you noted are important in SS. I agree. Daria and Aliona are definitely stronger than Kamila in the aspect.

I don't know where you've got all this impression that "Kostornaia seems to be a difficult person with a less preferable attitude".
Also a kind reminder: Trusova and Shcherbakova did not participate in this event. I don't see why they should be brought up to this discussion thread in any regard. If your intention is just to drag Kostornaia through the mud, well, I have no words.

It's not unnecessary, persay. Kamila, Daria, and Maiia have no international competition all year. And all three will be age eligible next year when there's Olympic spots on the line. It does them (or Russia) no good to have them not compete at all this year and Russia always let's 14 year olds compete with the seniors - Anna and Sasha did so and Aliona did the year before them and etc. It actually has done a world of difference for their confidence as all look better than last year, especially Kamila.
Also there are still senior Russian national team spots and GP spots to be decided on. Them proving that they belong is important.

I thought Kostornaya looked really tired yesterday. She had very visible dark circles under her eyes. I have never seen that on her. Poor girl, it was so hard to watch her crying in K&C. Seems like she is having a really rough time.
I was so sure Daria is age eligible and would get the last spot, I thought she was 19 or something, she looks much older then Kamila and Maiia! I think it´s very likely now that Liza will get the last spot. All though I feel sad for Aliona, I will be very happy on Lizas behalf. If she is the best age eligible at this final cup, and RusFed sends someone else, i´m going to be sooo mad
