Just curious.

IMO

You know, I used to want to cheer against Slutskaya, but the close the time comes, the less I seem to care. Now, a win by her may not be TOO bad in my eyes. I seem to be going back and forth...I don't really want Irina to win at all, but for some reason I don't really want Cohen to win, either. And the odds are really high that the winner will be one of those two. Hopefully someone else can sneak in for the win. So from here on out it's "Cohen, no, Slutskaya, h*** no" for me. Go Kimmie and Emily, make the top 10! And Kostner and Japanese ladies, go for gold!

EDIT: I picked Carolina, BTW.

Arakawa. The scoring for the Russians in both pairs and mens, they deserved to win both events but such inflated PCS scores, and Lysacek in the mens make me not want to see a Russian or American win. Slutie is my favorite and I hope she wins silver, and wins gold if Arakawa does not have a great skate. Arakawa, Slutskaya, and Cohen are the only three women gold medal calibre really. I dont personaly believe Kostner, Suguri, Ando, Sokolova, are gold medal caliber skaters.

Not gonna happen in a million years but if I could give it to whomever I wanted I would pick Joannie Rochette. She's a doll and, IMO, the best ladies skater Canada has ever had. Of the major players, I'd love to see Fumie take it.

If Rochette was an American, Russian, or French skater she would probably be ensured of a medal of some color with a clean skate. Sadly she is not and does not benefit from the same blatant overscoring skaters from those countries do.

OMG! The world has shifted... I feel the rapture coming... slutskayafan21 didn't vote for Irina... gasp! shock & awe!

I'm so shocked... but will admit that while I wan Irina to win on the "life achievement award" pov... I would love for Diva to win or take silver... she's such an extradorinary athlete... Fumie & Sasha fighting it out for bronze would make for a great competition.

I agree that the up & comers are just that and should get the experience to make them all greats later on... 2010 just might be the most interesting olympics in a long time.

I picked Irina, but barring that, Shizuka. And I suppose that's all I'll say because I'll just get in trouble.

(but of course RD didn't put her as an option... darn him!;) )

Well, technically, "Other" could count...;)

If I put MK there, someone who's DEFINITELY not going to win the 06 Gold, she'd get all the votes anyway. So the REAL question is, out of the COMPETITORS, who do you want to win?

The ladies figure skating is going to turn out like the men's. Irina is gold and Joannie is bronze. Silver-whoever.

Alrighty then... I'll go on the record and say... Irina or Diva... but since I'm still not sure that either are there ~ I should try & get on Millie's good side & say Joannie.

Toss up between Arakawa and Sokolova....I voted Elena, just because I like her spunk and something about her skating always makes me smile.

French skaters have been victims of arrangements for years. Their federation finally understood that they couldn't win medals (when deserved) without making arrangements themselves.

Don't be hypocrit. Everybody knew months before SLC that it would be terribly difficult to win the gold for Anissina and Peizerat given the announced panel of judges. Everybody knew it was a pro-Italian-Russian panel. So, what did the Federation do ? They tried to get allies. The problem is that they got caught.

Everybody makes deals. Everybody cheats. Simply because they have to since others do. You're disgusted with this? You can't be more than I am.
But I'm just FED UP to read nonsense about the French Federation being the worst among manipulative feds.

I really think this poll should go back in the Olympics section, btw...I feel that moving it here totally killed the topic. There has been no replies and like 7 votes in the day it's been here. The first few hours it got 40. jmo...

The reason we don't put polls in the other folders is this. Every time someone votes, whether they post a comment or not, that brings the thread up to the top. If we allow polls in the other folders, after a while the whole first page is dominated by polls and the threads without polls get pushed down to the second page and forgotten.

This happens a lot. Someone comes along and says, hey, look at all these polls, and casts his vote in all of them, even on topics that he is only mildly interested in.

BTW, this exchange (your last post and this answer) belong in the Feedback folder. :)
