Game of Podiums

Thank you for the correction! "Pulcherissima" is not a superlative, you are right. But the only I remember from my latin classes is "Magistra nostra pulchra est" written on a desk

I like your idea for the House Champery emblem. I would add a zebra and a lion as supporters ;)

Oh, I had to check it too, it's been so long since I studied it  :drama:
Still talking about not so good memories, I was really trying to wipe away that zebra costume from my mind

Am looking forward to see what House Artyunyan of Lakewood can do with their two new knights Marin and Eun-soo. They have such talent and I hope they will be able to show us that.

It will be interesting now that House Tutberidze is not longer almost guaranteed to dominate in senior ladies. The fight for the throne is on.

Simple idea for House of Tutberidze
Emblem: two crowns (gold and silver) and multiple little stars on a burgundy ("sanguine" in heraldry) field. Lion and fox as supporters (according to "You must be the lion and the fox [to rule]" by Machiavelli). Slogan (let's go with latin): "Pulcherrimae et ingeniosissimae" ("The most beautiful and the most talented").

Aww I love the emblem! And the motto too, although it mixes Moris in with the ladies ahah

I've added MF but since I don't follow ice dance as closely I probably forgot a ton of her teams :D

Seeing House Tutberidze vs House Orser after all the drama that happened, will make for a great War of the Russian Queens.

Eteri gets a text from an unknown number. It reads “the cricket club sends its regards.” She turns on the TV and looks in horror as Medvedeva announces she is joining Orser.

Picture this. Eteri is at Sambo, watching her young prodigees skating: she assesses, observes, judges. Then, something catches her eye. Right on the boards of the rink, a little bit to her right, is a cricket. It seems to look at her before jumping away, seemingly vanishing into thin air.

Eteri turns towards Daniil.

"She left us".

😂😂😂 love it

There's going to be a 'always pays their debts' the coming season, but not sure who it is yet.
Bet it has something to do with the Evgenia situation.

Fun thread! Are there points for gold, silver etc and if so which competitions count?

New House Team Broadmoor in Colorado Springs (Tom Zakrajsek, Christy Krall, Tammy Gambil) Zakrajsek:
Obviously, the long term plan is to make this one of the best training centers in the world.
So put them on the list to show it

Karen Chen
Vincent Zhou
Mirai Nagasu
Camden Pulkinen (junior US champion)
Tomoki Hiwatashi
Paige Rydberg
Angela Wang
Livvy Shilling

Maybe:
Andrew Torgashew

From a post by ice coverage in this thread:

Andrew Torgashev apparently moved to Colorado Springs not long ago -- presumably to train full-time with Krall?
(Krall already has been on Torgashev's coaching team for at least a couple of years, when he was based in Florida and would make visits to Colorado to work with her.)

(Mentioning some more ladies: Zakrajsek has Paige Rydberg; Krall is one of Angela Wang's coaches [assuming Angela's career continues]; and Krall has Livvy Shilling.)

You need to add Ryan Bradley to that COS coaching team, because he coaches with them, he's Angela's main coach btw. ;)

Here's another small house with the capacity to punch above its weight to go into the mix:

House 7k (Kori Ade, Rohene Ward, and co)

Jason Brown
Laurine Lecavelier

Motto: That one may smile, and smile...

I root for House Orser and House Champéry, even though it's small :luv17:

Not quite so small now that they've added Luke Digby to the lineup and Noah Bodenstein's aged into skating Juniors internationally.

Laurine Lecavelier ...

Jordan Moeller :luv17: also is part of 7k!

Ben Jalovick too. (Not sure who else.)

As we all know, there are big questions as to the future of 7k.
Nothing confirmed, but perhaps Jason is moving to a new coach?
Somewhere on GS, I read a rumor (repeat: only a rumor) that perhaps Kori herself might be leaving???
And I am not clear on Rohene's status re 7k at this point. Does going on tour with Holiday on Ice again mean only a temporary absence from 7k? Or could it mean something more???
ETA:
To be crystal clear, I understand that touring will not last forever. I am wondering whether there is any possibility that more touring might signal a change in Rohene's long-term interest in being a fixture at 7k?

From a post by ice coverage in this thread:

I am mortified that in the other thread I forgot to mention Brynne McIsaac :luv17: on Team Tom Z.

Not sure if snowflake purposely left out Emmanuel Savary? (Whom I did mention in the other thread -- as well as in earlier posts in the U.S. Men thread.)

And Sappenfield still has tons of pairs at World Arena Ice Hall.
Feng/Nyman the most promising, I think? In their first season together: U.S. junior silver medalists; 8th at Junior Worlds.

ETA:

Damon Allen and Becky Calvin also should be mentioned as WAIH coaches, as Tom Z's photo tonight reminds me. #WorldArenaInternationalSkatingAcademy

Not on my iPad, so this will not have accents, circumflexes, etc...

but the motto for the Maison de Marie-France de Montreal (as well as Patrice, newly crowned PSA coach of the year tonight)

"Honi soit qui mal y danse":laugh2:

Now we will really see how many French history nerds are in the audience, any takers?

Knowing the story behind that quote, it's not something that's honestly valid in this day and age, nor is it funny.

Team Orser:

qualis est in pulchritudo

"Beauty in Quality"

The animal could be a swan for beauty, but a tiger also popped in the search, so I nominate the Bengal tiger for House Orser.

And instead, I nominate the swan for House Hamada.

Love the motto!

I second the notion of the cricket mentioned elsewhere in the thread, since we already know CC members casually as Team Cricket. "Merry as crickets" reminds me of the cooperation and positive energy that Brian and Tracy prefer to dominate interactions there.

I can see Yuzuru as the White Swan of House Orser, so perhaps the Black Swan can still be House Hamada's?
