Gracie Gold

Just watched Gracie's SP, OH MY GOD. that is [tears all over my face].
The best ever performance from Gracie.
watch it with your ear plugs in. to feel her musicality, interpretation, nuances and phrasing of her movement...
Gracie has come a long way !!!
So proud of you Gracie.
Please be like this in the future, the best you can, the prettiest princess on ice just because you are beautiful!
love love love
Go Gracie, Gracie Gogogo!
:cheer:

and Gracie do you know that you look the most beautiful in RED:love::o:
......
.....
I love love love your opening lutz combo phrasing this time. just perfect!......but still too close to the board:hopelessness:. next season please don't scare me like that again.

I have to admit that I wasn't completely on her train before, but then with brilliant execution of programs like the LP at Worlds and SP at WTT, I see glimpses of brilliance that I've heard so much about for the past few seasons but never really understood until recently.

I feel the same way. Her performance last night was lovely. After seeing what she's capable of, I hope we'll get to see more of that brilliance. Looking forward to the next season! :yay:

I am fascinated by combination of Gracie's athleticism with most refined beauty, so rare. Once she get her competitive nerves under control she'll be unstoppable

Good luck for tomorrow, Gracie!!!

I said I have found in her a new way of competing. The results are in the SP. Let's see what she brings up in the FS but I think she'll do very nice, like her fs at worlds.

not the best outing to end her season, but I feel like her step sequences shone in WTT

Well it probably affirms her decision to go to Frank them. I'd imagine that while he gave her a really great technical foundation, he probably did not help much as far as getting her competitive mindset together.

Just finished listening to the interview with her former coach. He has very nice things to say about most of the skaters they discussed (while still being insightful and critical at times) except for her. To say that nothing about her skating has improved since moving to Frank is simply false, IMO. Sounds like a case of sour grapes. As he's her former coach, I was hoping he would have more insight on her inconsistency issues.

Well, I don't know if it was that terrible, but Gracie was one of the skater's who got the short end of the stick in that interview. Without :hijacked: , I'm surprised you didn't pick up on his comments about Josh... now there's a skater he had nothing good to say about.

:hijacked: ;)

I didn't think his comments about Josh were particularly bad, simply that he has a hard time brushing off mistakes. Dave seemed to be trying to get him to say something negative about Josh's work ethic (which Dave has made comments about in the past, and I don't know enough about Josh personally to know if those criticisms are valid or not.) But Alex didn't take the bait and instead commented on how he has seen Josh handle mistakes. It didn't seem especially negative to me. He also expressed his opinion that hypothetical clean-Jason-with-a-quad beats clean-Josh-with-a-quad which I didn't think was any worse than his observation that a clean Hanyu beats clean Javier. And I obviously  Josh but didn't think any of his comments about him were especially nasty.

On the other hand, he made a bit of a snide comment about seeing a photo of Gracie with a celebrity and wondering if she's actually training. In addition, the joke he made about Gracie training 3A and/or 4S and how she must have a real sense of humor about it wasn't kind, especially when he so diplomatic about explaining why he doesn't think Ashley will ever get a 3A.

Overall though it was a fun interview and I really enjoyed it and learned from it.
