thanks!Usually around the middle of June. Last year it was announced June 6th.
Typically there is a replacement list after the selections are annnounced. Is there a list of eligible participants, once known retirements and splits are taken into account?
Someone else here can probably respond more knowledgeably. I believe that some skaters are eligible who have appeared at GPs previously. For example, Daniil Parkman should be eligible, and he may also be newly partnered with someone who is eligible -- thus split team status.^By the way, can a new pairing (no SB, no World or GP standings) be eligible for GP competition? If yes, what are the selection criteria?
They can get host spots or be added to the replacement list by winning a challenger. Or one of the previous partners has to have placed high enough at a previous world championship, I’m not sure the exact place but I think somewhere around 10.^By the way, can a new pairing (no SB, no World or GP standings) be eligible for GP competition? If yes, what are the selection criteria?
If a qualifying partnership splits, new partnerships created by those two basically inherit the qualifying position of the previous partnership.^By the way, can a new pairing (no SB, no World or GP standings) be eligible for GP competition? If yes, what are the selection criteria?
I can only speak for single skatingIs there a list of eligible participants, once known retirements and splits are taken into account?
Thanks for putting the list together! It would be great to see Rion and Rino maintain their two spots. About Murakami, I thought she needed to sit out a year since she is changing federations?I can only speak for single skating

This is if you go strictly by ranking, but it's not a given that the new seniors will actually move up to seniors, and the host spots can shuffle around things a bit.
And the WS list isn't completed yet. Vasiljevs, Repond and Lin-Gracey might get one spot due to world ranking, at the expense of Nordebäck and Seoyoung Kim.
Yes, it's early days. I expect quite a few more who will retire (or taking a year off), but haven't officially said so yet. So there might be quite a few changes to come. Thanks for putting the list together! It would be great to see Rion and Rino maintain their two spots. About Murakami, I thought she needed to sit out a year since she is changing federations?
I have also read that Tatsuya reconsidered his retirement and is now officially only taking a year off to focus on his studies, but I cannot find the source now. (Personally, I cannot see him coming back though)
Thank you! I understand things may shift around a bit, but it's nice to have a general idea.I can only speak for single skating

It will be interesting to see if skater choice has any effect on ticket sales for SkateAmerica. Right now, ticket sales are kind of ho hum. Thanks for putting the list together! Edit:
Looks like the WS list is done. No Vasiljevs, but Hagara will get one spot (-1 for Nordebäck).
For women there are quite a few that will surely get one spot. Schild, Chaeyeon Kim, Yun, Schizas, Repond. That means Seoyoung Kim, von Felten and Sauter might not get any spots at all.

He has two guaranteed spots from Worlds placement and would be in the first seed group of 1-3 of the top 12 guaranteed two spots. Stephen Gogolev should be bumped into the top seed group now and Kyrylo Marsak should be bumped up into the two guaranteed spots due to his 13th place at Worlds.Kagiyama has announced that he'll be taking the upcoming season off.
I wonder how his spots will be redistributed? Will it go to the next on the WS list so Vasiljevs can have a chance of going?![]()
