Have you seen Lambiel's new flamenco LP? It's amazing!!

That was real good. It's gonna be fantastic men's competition this year. Definitely I prefer Stephane to Joubert. I have not seen such balanced and fantastically choreographed programme in a long time. Great music. It shows that even with today's very tough system one can still make art on the ice. It's more difficult than ever. But it still can be done. And thank god for Staephane and the team behind them because this is why I still watch figure skating. There were times when I thought there was nothing to enjoy in this sport anymore. And I look forward to see the battle with Evan Lysachek. I have not seen the rest however.
One thing is for sure. I do not miss Plushchenko . Yes he was so so good, but there was nothing to look forward to with him around. The battle was only for second place and who can get inspired by such battle.

Yes, that was quite wonderful.

Unfortunately the terrific lead-in, which was just great for that show, won't be allowed in the strict Worlds program :(

Nonetheless, I hope Stephane can pull it off. Great stuff !

I'm going to have the unpopular opinion here, LOL. I thought the program was fine, but I was disappointed. I was not blown away by either the technical or artistic content. That said, he did look better than he has recently, and with determination will be right in there in the medal hunt.

The music is authentic Flamenco and not the faux Carmen opera.

That together with the baroque Vivaldi, which skaters, male or female, can do both? Maybe Denkova and Staviski.

I just watched it again - I'm so hooked on this program it is amazing!

And Joe - you are right, few have the range Lambiel does - but I do agree that Denk/Stav are among them!

:agree: :agree:
Trouble with versatility is that it is not scoreable. Don't know why the founders of the CoP didn't include it in the spread sheet for the PCS.

While I am not a big fan of Evan, he does use selections in Carmen that change the pace and style of the skate. How well he does that is in the mind of the viewer.

Yeah Denk/Stav could dance to a commercial jingle, and I would be awed.
