Hockey Canada just revealed their roster of 25 athletes.

Not a single hockey player from Québec... which, though I haven't followed much NHL hockey lately (way too busy following MHL -winks) surprised me a bit.

I don't know if this team is good enough for gold... even with Crosby and McDavid.

What do you guys think ? Who will win gold ?
They need to think game by game, not go with their eyes on a gold-medal match with the US. Remember Turin in 2006? Any of the top teams could win if the favourites make enough errors in the elimination games.

The US would not have played for, let alone won, the gold in 1980 if Baker hadn't scored a tying goal against Sweden in the last minute of play in an earlier game. Without that tie, they would have been eliminated at that point and never played the famous "miracle" game against Russia or the gold medal game against Finland.

Crosby alone does it for me! Pen for almost 50 years now! 🐧
And, yeah, Draisaitl carries the German flag :cry3:

Crosby out of the semi-finals... lower-body injury...

Canada trailing Finland 2-1 after 2...

Getting very nervous now.

Yeah, watched it. What a game! Hope they'll bring the gold home today. 🤞🤞🤞
I've read somewhere that Crosby might be able to play after all. Well, as a Penguins fan, I'm very worried.

Hope it's okay to come here and say Congrats to Team USA! It's been a long time. The game could have gone either way. Canada is a tough opponent.

My daughter has been a big Crosby/Pens fan for years, though I know he was injured and not playing today.

(our hometeam is the Blackhawks)

We just heard on NBC that the players have to delay their return home, due to the snowstorm in the Northeast.

A belated shout out (I don't think there's a thread for that anywhere) to the USA Women's hockey team.
