I had to do a double-take when Kate Push came on there.

She's starting to look like an older, happier version of Anastasia Martyusheva!

I thought that was a decent performance from Ekaterina and Jonathan, but she in particular looked very disappointed when the scores came up.

I had such a bulletproof theory!

* if you think about it: Bobrova/Soloviev already have such a negative reputation for this year (bad, bad free dance; everybody expects "russian federation is only pushing their scores anyway",...) that giving the win to Ilynikh/Katsalapov would make for a big "wow!" in the figure skating community, and would give THEM a boost during the Olympics. I know, I'm delusional, but I'd really like that.
Speaking of bad, bad free dance: Ilynikh/Katsalapov do NOT have one of those! Their Swan Lake is a beauty!
It allowed them to beat Pechalat/Bourzat. In France!
