Miki Ando
3s, 3F,2A2T
3lz2Lo2Lo, 3Lz(step out) 3Lo(fall), 2A2Lo

109.07 174.09

into 2nd.. a disastrous skate from Miki.

Standings now:

Fumie Suguri 178.59
Miki Ando 174.09
Akiko Suzuki 173.98
Yukari Nakano 172.60

So Suguri is at least going to get silver? Who would've guessed!

This makes the world team selection interesting.

Yep, I know Mao is already going to worlds. I don't know who Japanese federation will pick.. I just don't know if Fumie will get the same high PCS from the international judges. I can't believe Nanano fell apart tonight. I have never seen her do that.

It's going to be an achingly difficult selection.
Fumie, Miki, Akiko, Yukari.
Are they splitting them up into two teams for 4CC and Worlds?

Yep she was.. I can't really rely on Ando and Suguri.. You just never know, they could completely fall apart and not place in the top 15.

I think 1-2-3. will go to Worlds, and 4-5. to 4CC

I think this would be a good option. I hope they won't send the top skaters both to 4CC and Worlds again... Mao is starting to look a bit overtrained and I think it would be a wise idea to let her rest and peak in time for Worlds. Meanwhile, Yukari, Akiko and Nana could use some ISU points.

Kanako is adorable!

I have no clue, but I hope she does. I really like her programs this season. :)
She fought really hard to get on the Worlds team... She became quite consistent and although her PCS on the international stage won't be as high as those at Nationals, they are getting higher this season.

It's a very difficult choice, because IMHO all skaters in the final group at Japanese Nationals wouldn't look out of place at Worlds. But if the rules were changed after Olympics to make the results at Nationals have a deciding say in who makes the Worlds team, it wouldn't be fair to change them again now, after the competition.

Either they should just get it over with and name the top 3 here for the team for worlds, or name the top 2 and use FCC as a skate off for the third spot between Nakano and Ando.

Suguri has earned it by winning the LP, but I really hope she puts at least one edge triple in the program by worlds.
