Jason Brown

Like everyone else, so sad for all the skaters and especially Jason, I think he was on an upward path as well, and working so hard. I agree that we may get to see the programs again next season, maybe????

Also so sad for everyone who had bought tickets and was going. Yes, health comes first, but it's still disappointing.

:sad4:

This makes it two competitions. Nebelhorn and now Worlds. I'm wondering if he will keep the same programs next season. I would like that to be frank.

It would make a lot of sense for him to keep them but incorporate quads. That would be a very good thing, I think. We'll see what the world looks like next season. Hopefully better than this!

We are disappointed. They are refunding tickets and we canceled our hotel rooms. So sad, but it was absolutely the right thing to do. They should have canceled sooner. Hoping I get another opportunity at some point to see Jason skate. And it would have been my first time seeing Yuzu skate. We were lucky we didn't have plane reservations. A lot of people did, and the airlines may not fully refund them. I hope they do!

I'm not questioning the decision to cancel Worlds, but I'm gutted for Jason that he won't be able to skate his beautiful programs again this season. He was definitely on an upswing and I was so looking forward to seeing him skate in Montreal. This has to be so hard for the skaters. :(

At least he ended the season on a glorious high note with 4CC silver...

Echoing others sentiments, I agree it was the right decision but I am bummed for Jason... I had such a good feeling that we'd see that quad at Worlds and it sounds like he is nailing it in practice but just needs that competition experience of doing it... argh!! He was on such upward momentum that it is very sad to see it cut short!
I also agree that I would quite happily see both programmes again, there's really only been two or three clean run throughs of both programmes so I don't feel like I'm done with the programme. Just feeling fortunate that I didn't decide to fly out to Canada for Worlds....

And I'm soooo glad he went to 4CC! I remember at the time I was hoping he wouldn't go because i thought it was too close to Nationals. Now I'm so thankful to have those moments.

Also, that tweet/IG post with the young Japanese boy ....

:sad4:so sweet

you know you're a Jason fan when without even seeing the previous tweet, you say, the kid in the wheelchair at NHK is walking:clap:

I wonder whether he tweeted that on purpose just at that moment, when all of us were so gutted over the WC not to be - to cheer up our spirit, to help us maintain the right perspective of life! Being such an angel, such a solar power in human form, I wouldn't exclude that possibility, and he somehow succeeded in it :luv17:

Jason is literally an angel. The love and warmth he spreads with his words and actions :sad4: . I may have shed a tear when I saw that little boy from NHK walk. So precious.
I hope that Jason keeps his FS for next season, I would love to see him perform SL at Worlds. Maybe he would also be able to show it at Nebelhorn this time! I remember he really wanted to go there to perform SL!

Oh yes, SL deserves another season. Either next season, or it would be awesome if he will save it for the Olympic season. Either way, I pray we haven't seen the last of that incredible program!!!!

Or even to remind himself. It has to be hard. Whatever, it worked for me. :)

I agree that a repetition would be absolutely appropriate here.

I'm pretty gutted. He had so much momentum, and I was quite convinced of two things: that he was a realistic chance of a medal (a pretty good one!), and that he was going to land the quad here. Every sign was just pointing that way, and what a moment that would have been! I hope the stalled momentum doesn't throw him off too much and he storms into next season busting out quads and brilliance everywhere.

We're still adjusting to the cancellation of World's, but so relieved that they finally did what they should have done a week ago. I agree that Jason sent out that message as a positive note. This is a disappointment, but that's all. A disappointment. Staying healthy and avoiding any vectors of this plague are far more important. But this was a wonderful year for Jason and I hope that next season will be even better. I live in New York State, so the threat is quite real here and we are taking it seriously. But there is a lot of uncertainty. It's definitely a "one day at a time" situation. I hope that everyone stays healthy and safe!

I love his short program too, so maybe keep the Short next year and Shindlers list for the Olympics?

In this sad time I was even more saddened to realise the olympic channel replays of US Nats have disappeared... And other links have been blocked? Anyone know of any copies of Jason's free skate (but not a fancam, I mean like a stream of the coverage because I'm all about that k&c reaction!)

Oh, this interview makes me :sad21: all over again, and full of so many quotes about his journey and his skating:

"When you have a sport, anything is possible. I think I have allowed people throughout my career to tell me what was possible for me to achieve or not achieve, and I kind of let them define those things for me. By the time they realized what I was capable of, it was often too late for me to realize it.

It had gotten in my head that I wasn’t good enough or I didn’t have the technical ability or I wasn’t going to be rewarded for what I did because of what I did or did not have. I have built a better sense of my self-worth when it comes to competing, so I’m not fazed by what could or could not happen. We’re in a competition, and I do believe I can be on that podium if I skate the way I can."

Oh, Jason of course you are worthy, which your fans always knew:clap:

And then Jason saying he's no spring chicken:laugh: Yes, I know it's in relation to skating, but Jason, let your aunties in the FF tell you what being no spring chicken means;)
