I am not a subscriber, but tempted to buy the digital edition for $3.99....It looks like an overall good issue anyway.

Oh well. It seems that Jason, in his nice way, is basically saying "haters, to the left please."
I never saw the point of people making fun of someone for not having something, especially something that few people have to begin win. I mean it's not like that guy could do a quad!

Can you tell us what Jason's reply was? I don't yet subscribe.![]()

I'm sorry - I was going to in the morning (I posted that just before I went to bed at 3:30) but when I got here I realised I'd forgotten about time zones and that my morning would be most peoples' evening! *facepalm* I guess I was a bit tired
Glad that Mrs P replied first so that you didn't have to wait too long
In fact, I was wondering if it could be possible to share the article here by scanning it then sharing the picture? I could try to do that if that sort of thing is allowed here...
Probably can screen shot it then put it on flicker or make it into a PDF or something.

The longer his uninjured stretch goes on, the longer his career can be.
Everyone gets injuries, but Jason probably just didn't have any serious injuries that set him back. I wouldn't say its typical, but does happen often since injuries can occur due to many different reasons. Such as over-training/pushing yourself, bad conditions/facilities, bad coaching/techniques, or just plain bad luck. I believe Mao Asada's also never suffer from any major injuries which is amazing considering she was training the 3A since she was like 12/13?How typical is it for a (male) skater to sustain some injury if he has been skating since age four (such as, JB)?

BTW, Jason has just tweeted a very cool photo!

Jason's situation is very unusual, though not unheard of. He's been injured before - I think a couple of years ago Kori mentioned a muscle strain, sore back etc, but all minor little aches and pains, not major injuries. Max Aaron is a weird case because he's had one major, major injury - the broken back - but he actually did that lifting weights, not skating. But he's never had another.
Joshua's had more injuries than you can poke a stick at - osteochondritis dissecans, a slash to the leg, torn hip muscle, and a broken leg. But then he was also under the coaching of Zakrasjek for a long time - under which all of the aforementioned injuries occurred.
Another thing going for Jason is his flexibility. Jason has credited that for his relative lack of injures. I think it was on The Skating Lesson where he said he felt he could do more with his skating because of it.
IMO, I feel like Joshua was doing too much too early. It certainly helped him win competitions early on, but I think it sort of worn him. I also think too much focus on jumps lead to a loss of his flexibility and made him more prone to injury. In fact, Jason credits Joshua's flexibility early on for his determination to work on his.
Something I've always wondered about Jason it's why, while having great flexibility in his hips, he has a relatively stiff back? could it be because he "trained" it instead of being more natural? just curious...
Yes, he's probably trained to have a straight back, i.e. something ideal in dancing. But I'm not sure if that would equate to him having a stiff back. I'm no dancing expert so I'm hoping someone can fill in here.
