Johnny Weir Journal Update

Wow! It sounds like he really in focussing on the skating - passing up the heatherette show becuase the date change clashed with his skating - that's pretty big. Even bigger of him to admit that in the past he'd have done it anyway.

FIngers crossed for Johnny that season is his best.

Thanks for the information, Geesesk8.

"I'm so excited to put it out at Cup of China."

So, maybe we can see his new short program on "International Counter Match in Japan"! I'm looking forward to seeing his new one!

Johnny's information is all about skating for the first time. He's not trying to shock anyone. He's speaking about his sport and what he is doing and will do. It's a good read and hopefully his new attitude will bring good competitive results.

This is a fantastic journal from Johnny. Wow! It is very encouraging to hear how he is training and his detailed report of 2 new programs. I totally enjoyed the entire journal. It is looking like a very good season ahead for Johnny.

And the full run throughs all the time! I wish him all the best for the this season.

9/23/07 Weir Journal

I have re-read the Journal entry several times and think this is Johnny's best Journal entry ever!

There is a lot in this Journal that impressed me with what appears to be Johnny's (new?) attitude towards his training. For example, Johnny was scheduled to do a fashion show for Heatherett but because a scheduling issue changed the date of the show to a skating (training?) night, he decided to skate. To me, this indicates Johnny is indeed serious about his training and the season ahead. All this from the Olympian who missed the bus because 'they' changed the schedule and did not tell him, to canceling a previous commitment so he could skate / train. This guy is serious and I am glad. He also mentions that while his new costumes won't be too simple, they will also not be too theatrical and take away from his skating. All of this, and a hair cut too. Good! Good! Good!

 Here's wishing Johnny a golden season!

It does seem like a new Johnny and hopefully this will translate into his skating this year. He can really be a contender if he keeps up the work ethic. I really like that fact that he is honest in his journals.

I am glad that he is really focusing now. I think he has learned his lesson. If he wants to be on top he needs to focus 110%. There is life after skating, but it has to be after skating.

I'm so pleased he's doing full run throughs! I think that will help him enormously this year. I wish him the best! :)

Wonderful! I am so excited to see the new programs--- especially the SP. Sounds like he really wants to turn things around. He is more positive and upbeat than ever---- and even more ---- sounds like he's got the hunger to be a champion again. Look out!!

I feel that I have already said everything that I wanted to say about Johnny and his skating in the past a few months. It's always entertaining to read his journal, of course. Johnny is a very good writer. Can't wait to see his skating.
