Junhwan Cha

I'm not in love with the FS music. Again, I wish he'd go back to the Planets from last year or get a different program... But he did great. I'm concerned that he seems to be really into it. Although I'm happy that he's becoming confident and that he managed to land 4t, I think this will be a good season for him.

I lowkey thought he was going to win, but anyways. Im dying the female commentator mention he being a "cutie cute" and the man was like "he is gorgeous" Im so happy, hoping for a great season. He seems to like the program. He knows how to sell it

Oh my, I demand a R+J skate off between Jun and Alena  Is that Leo voice on the actual music track in the OST? Because I swear it comes at exactly the same spot in both programs.

Anyway, congrats! I'm confused, but he was selling it.

Jun deserves 90+ PCS just by being able to sell this program. Although is a hot mess, I kinda like it because it makes him stand out among endless R&J programs.

Congrats on the PB! It seems this season will be good for him. #JunhwanWorldChampion2019

Yes, it is. Their choreographers just forgot to edit it out (or they didn’t want to).

Jun-Hwan is such a cutie, he forgot to shake hands with Roman and then ran over to hug him

Omg I actually love this program  He did so well in this competiton, I'm so happy for him, I hope he will be healthy from now on and just keep geting great results like that :sad4:

I actually love this program too! Two great programs this season and he skated really well!

I decided I'm cool with Jun's FS -- as i mentioned in the competition thread, I feel like it an accurate depiction of the 1990s version of the movie --and I appreciate having a throwback to that 1990s aesthetic (I was in high school when that movie came out and Claire Danes was the ultimate angsty teenager of my generation, so i have fond memories). It helps he sells it too. Congrats on a great competition, Jun!

I agree - as a fan of this version of the movie, this program is a great portrayal of it. Jun performed it so well!

I loved his skating in the FS - will have to look for music to throw over that cacophony. But I have to repeat what I said before, it is crystal clear he likes the music (our skaters, they do not have to - and so often do not - have the same music tastes as us...)

I can't stand to the music choices of the free, but Cha has make a great improvements overall

Officially on board as a fan after this weekend! Two memorable programs where he really sold them, I think it's much better than skating to what's considered great music but not really into them. I don't know how to describe it but it felt like he can throw his whole body into the movements.

I'm too lazy to search so if a kind soul can tell me, which GP is he going to?

Skate canada and finland, back to back :)

I am a new fan of Junhwan! I actually like him since the Olympic team event but today he impressed be with his technique and musicality - and yet, he is so young! And a humble, sweet boy. So cute <3

I think his FS is hilarious and original. Very bold of him, I like it! Julieeet <3

It's amazing how close he got to Yuzu, he is almost there!

I like it a lot, I like the movie too, but using R+J (movie) and avoid to be compare with Yuzuru, it has to be a new arrangement, and I recon they did well with this cut of music. It new and its existing :) I can't wait for GP when they have better camera angle, and we could see his facial expression better.
Jun did well, I am so happy for him~

LOL his FS is honestly such an experience, but for some reason it just kind of works for him. This is definitely one of the most memorable R&J's . I'm looking forward to seeing this program in person when Skate Canada rolls around.

Love both programs - the FS I don’t think is meant to be taken super seriously - it’s meant to be fun and chaotic just like Baz Luhrmann’s R+J - I think the voiceovers and the odd music cuts totally fit the quirky editing of the film (like all of Baz’s films).
