Junhwan Cha

I wish he hadn't pushed the 2 quads, but congrats on a clean(if not counting URs, lol) performance. Best wishes for a complete recovery

I don't think this interview has been linked here yet: https://youtu.be/zW1KaZkBVKM

It's with Brian, and the first ten minutes or so are about Jun. It's pretty interesting, and he talks about last season too. Brian described the whole Olympic qualification thing as 'six months of hell' and says there were 'lots of tears' from Jun... :(

And here's a bunch of stuff from ranking comp:

lol. it pays to go on twitter. even though i don't use twitter myself.

I am happy Jun is getting recognition.
But hopefully the media attention doesn't distract him. He is yet to prepare for his college entrance exams and more competions in the future.

I don't know how to feel about this, hope it doesn't affect his schedule much... Wasn't planning on watching the SBS awards, but now I'll have to tune in. Junhwan in a suit would be lovely though.

I usually wouldn't care for this sort of stuff in the middle of the season, but he could honestly take it easy right now with his less than ideal physical state and boot change.

Is it because he used to be a child actor that they shooed him in the awards as presenter?
Or is it just he doing great and SBS sa FS rights in SK they are pushing him to be the face of it now? (He does have a lovely face honestly)
I don't mind the attention, it could bring him in sponsors for his training.
But not to the point of idol like (though he looks like one, actually he looks way better than some)
Because Jun is an athlete he needs space so he can clear his mind focus.
Specially that his sport requires strong focus.

His agency, "Bravo and New", belongs to an entertainment and media distribution company "New", who started as "Next Entertainment Group" in Korea 10 years ago.

Considering the specialty of the parent group, I'm sure the agency will push hard for media exposure.

Does he really need to participate at Korean Nationals? That event is so close to 4CC that there will be hardly any training time... I wonder how did Yu-Na Kim manage all those Korean events and Nationals regarding the 4CC while training in Toronto?

Anyway, I think that it´s great to Cha´s state of mind that his hard work is giving him recognition and attention from the press, etc. I hope though that his agency understands that figure skating is a sport which needs A LOT concentration on training and less doing sponsor stuff & other distractions.

It was very hard for her when she was younger. I cannot remember exactly how it happened, but KSU allowed her to skip Korean Nationals during 2006-2007, when she won GPF.

This part I'm sure: Whenever she got a World medal, she could skip all the domestic competitions the next season.

For the 2013-14 season, she participated in the Korean National by various reasons (the last domestic competition before her retirement, etc).

Excellent English as usual, and I do love the calm maturity he shows during interviews. Him acknowledging Junliet was cute too, but when talking about Yuzuru comparisons he called himself Jun and I found that so adorable  :luv17:

It could be that his parents are “stage parents” and are seeking fame for him. Orser mentioned it in the Wilson interview and didn’t sound too happy with the fact.
