Junior Ladies Short Program

And you don't think that Caroline has her own fans back at her home club rink? Even in my local rink the big stars are the two girls who are just starting to work triples...they feel the pressure of the fans and club to go to competitions and win big. I've not doubt that the skates that Caroline had on the GP where she was leaving her closest competitors 20 points behind led to big expectations and pressure for nationals.

That's a good point, also- I forgot about the club folks. Still, though, this is nothing compared to the scrutiny she'll likely be under in a couple of years- that's the real point I'm trying to make: she ain't seen nothin' yet.

But she still has time. It's often when you lose that you find out what you are made of, rather than if you win all the time.

But whether she has read that or not, we don't know- we can only speculate this stuff.

It was likely heard by Caroline (just give me a chance to say that name anytime  ) for the comment came from a fellow competitor. I would say that might inflate someone's self esteem to a degree of "hype" - whether or not it fits the criteria of "hypes definition" coming from a publication / media or not.

But the pressure starts somewhere, just because its not the full blown senior ice princess media whirl leading up to an Olympics it doesn't mean there isno pressure and the it isn't felt.

Yes it will likely get worse, but for now, for a 13 year old, its still pressure.

Kwan may have felt the real pressure of the media later on in life but the reports of Danny Kwan being concerned about his 12 or 13 year old daughter talking in her sleep about what she "had to do" is a sign that pressure is felt even by the young "up and comers" who less well known than the old guard,

If you do a Google News search on Caroline Zhang, 74 recent articles in major newspapers come up.

compared to how much for Kimmie or Emily?

That would be two different levels, but yes the point is clear, Caroline will get that kind of hit count once she hits the Seniors too I am sure. ;)

Provided she doesn't have issues - I don't like to think that way, but thought I might as well say it before someone else does.

Alissa Czisny 26
Evan Lysacek 108
Johnny Weir 187
Sasha Cohen 280
Michelle Kwan 452 (U.S. only, not counting China, LOL.) (Oops, it just went up to 488.)

Well, I read all 488 Michelle articles and they mostly are along the lines of "Michelle kwan isn't at Nationals this year, but how about that Caroline Zhang!"

   :agree:
I think the focus wont shift from Caroline unless the next few events have the fall on the 2a. Then Miria might gain a little pop. I think the realization is there of how much she would have (yah I know:p ) won by if they had been landed. Even either one would have had her as gold. Really like Miria too, but we all know the majority of fans are only interested in Gold.

When did she start practicing that 3a??? I think that threw her off.

Did you notice 0 pics / images come up with Miria - well some that don't have anything to do with her. Yet quite a few of Caroline.

I don't think Caroline has any particular problem with the double Axel. If I am not mistaken she did land it in the LP, but fell on her triple flip.
