Kana Muramoto & Daisuke Takahashi

Glad to know they finally arrived with their luggage :giggle:
Looks like they skipped the morning practice in the main rink like other skaters who flew via Frankfurt last night.
Wonder if they will show up at the afternoon practice in the practice rink.

UPDATE: They arrived in the practice rink with Marina! :bsplit:

Very relieved to hear they landed Tallinn finally and safely. :) Marina is okay now it seems, too. :)
Most important is to stay safe and healthy for all Team K7D1 members thruout this competition. Then safely back to Florida with injury-free covid-free, and conditioning themselves very well until Feb 4th as an ID alternate. Scores, placement, et la may not matter here.

That said, I do hope Kana and Dai will enjoy their debuting ISU championships this week! Good luck to Kana & Dai at 4CC! :hap10:

:ghug:

Who are KanaDais main competitors in this competition? Green/Parsons? Not a big ice dancing fan and didn’t recognize most names- Can this be their first gold? 😱

Soran Bushi runthrough from today's late afternoon practice :

They slightly changed up their positions in the transition, which they fell on at Nationals (their feet are a bit further apart now).

ETA:

Some beautiful shots from the RD practice:

I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for Kana and Dai to have two skates they can be happy with (and then let the chips fall where they may)! :cheer:

I would say the favourites for gold are Green/Parsons (if they skate clean), who are strong skaters with wonderful programs. Several teams here, including Kana and Dai, could place anywhere from 2nd to 6th (it also depends on the political leanings of the panel). But to be honest, anything can happen, as we’ve seen at Warsaw Cup! That’s why I didn’t take part in the prediction contest this time. ;)

Uncharacteiristic mistakes at the beginning and in the twizzle; they looked a bit off to me today. Maybe they were tired from the jetlag, or had an off day. Still, I'll never get bored by Soran Bushi, and I wish KanaDai good luck tomorrow! 🍀

Heartbroken about the fall and the swizzle mistake but that RD is still the best of the best in ID. Hoping for a solid skate tomorrow.

I agree, they both looked tense again at the start. I'm relieved it didn't happen on an element this time! 😅 I know this wasn't the performance they were looking for, but I'm very proud of them that they recovered so well. And hey, they are in 2nd, so nothing is lost. They should put this behind them and go all out tomorrow! ❤️

The choreography in the beginning is always risky and they almost made the same mistake at Nationals. (Kana later said she lost the balance a bit.) But they got most levels despite of the fall, which is good.
They looked a bit off today. I don't know if they are tired/having jet-lag or nervous. They skated better the run through during today's practice. Kana looked skating a bit behind of Dai.
She already had taping on her left leg at the practice, but I don't know if it affected her performance. She also looks very skinny, which worries me more.

RD Small Medals/Press Conference (although the title says "Free Dance" :scratch2: )
Kana also mentioned here that they almost made the same mistake at Nationals.

Yes they were a little tight today but overall good job. I think they may have a lot of pressure
on them to perform well and medal here and it could be messing with their timing. Pressure
on them at their Nationals for that one spot. They will have a break before Worlds to hopefully
work things out because they are in for more pressure to try to secure 2 spots for Japan., which will
be difficult and a tall order for any team especially a new team.

That said, GO KANADAI AND SLAY THE FD!!!!!!!. :cheer: :cheer: :ghug:

The World's entries are always rather depleted after Olympics, between some teams retiring and others skipped ng the event to tour,

That leaves more room in the top 10 for Kana & Daisuke to place high enough to qualify two teams.
