I reminded him backflips were legal now. I'm so excited I don't know what to do with myself. Now if Gracie and Kait and Jean Luc come back my skating fandom life will be complete.Does he just want to do a legal backflip in competition?
Honestly, I would not be surprised if Skate Canada had encouraged him to unretire.
I would have been happy had he stayed retired. Although I am uncertain if this is true or not, there was a rumor on Twitter about him committing sexual assault, and this colors my current opinion of him in a negative way.
It says something about the sad state of Canadian and to be honest NA men's skating. Didn't miss him and don't like the suss timing, but I guess Canada needs something and if Alysa could do it, if the Shibs could do it, if Jason could keep on keeping on at it...
But I do like Jackie Wong gleefully taking the mickey (well, someone had to think of it!)
He would have needed to do so before all the assignments were allocated. His 7th place finish at his last World championships would have given him 2 GP spots under the returning skater rule, but he needed to have said that he was returning and wanted to participate in the GP series. The ISU cannot now take away spots which were given to other skaters for this year's GP.Can't he use the returning skater clause that Gracie did?
Nah, I thought it was funny given the swathe the last few years of 'unretirees' who it appears can smell the weakness of their discipline and want in.That's mean of Jackie. Wouldn't expect it of him.
I hope Uncle By is next. Let's normalize skaters skating past 30.Nah, I thought it was funny given the swathe the last few years of 'unretirees' who it appears can smell the weakness of their discipline and want in.
I believe the only way he could be added to a GP would be if he now competed in and won a Challenger; a win there would add him to the eligible substitutes list. Digging in my pocket for loose change to watch Challengers.I believe the only way he could be added to a GP would be if he now competed in and won a Challenger; a win there would add him to the eligible substitutes list. (Someone will correct me if I’m wrong.)
And how far up the substitutes would a Challenger get him? Presumably he has his eye on Worlds instead and then an Olympic berth.I believe the only way he could be added to a GP would be if he now competed in and won a Challenger; a win there would add him to the eligible substitutes list. That would depend on his score. A win with a score of 235.71 or more would take him to the top of the list (and I think a podium with that score would as well - as long as no-one on the replacement list placed above him on the podium). Edit: However, he needs to achieve the domestic benchmark before he is eligible to be sent to a Challenger. Skate Canada have been quite strict about this with others and I hope, in the interests of fairness, that the same standards would apply to Keegan. And how far up the substitutes would a Challenger get him? I'm certain he'll do a backflip at some point in his programs this season.I reminded him backflips were legal now. I'm so excited I don't know what to do with myself. Now if Gracie and Kait and Jean Luc come back my skating fandom life will be complete.
I'm sitting here crying y'all.
*mopping up tears*I'm certain he'll do a backflip at some point in his programs this season.![]()
He missed the ones last week. I think the next competition which could be counted is the Souvenir Georges-Ethier in September or the Ontario sectional series in October. I imagine that if he was actually wanting GP spots, he would have come back earlier. He will be aware of Skate Canada's selection criteria and could have come back for last week's Summer sectional series if he wanted to.Is there a domestic competition in which he can skate?
There is a competition in AB/NT/NU in late September (his section). Deadline to register is tomorrowIs there a domestic competition in which he can skate?
Surely he has a plan. I wonder what his music is *hopping up and down with glee.*There is a competition in AB/NT/NU in late September (his section). Deadline to register is tomorrow
