Kim's representatives end Orser's coaching relationship threads merged

Remember the language barrier, though. Clear communication easier said than done at that point. The least they (ATS) could do is get a high-quality KOR-ENG translator- not that with their $10+ million earnings they couldn't afford one or anything...

Agree again. That email to Hersch from the ATS rep made me wince.

Well, I still think that something went down after the Olympics where they weren't on the same page and it caused a rift. I'm guessing the retirement Sochi Mao stuff... ah why didn't the 2 of you just tell everyone you're happy to win and that you'll be taking a private 1 month long vacation in Fiji or something. DIDN'T they make a NEW commercial for Samsung this very summer? What in the world happened?

Exactly. There is no reason and no excuse for them to keep that person in charge of such an important job. She should've been fired long time ago. Have you seen her translating for Yuna during 2010 WC? Everyone was saying even Yuna can speack English better than that. If she is somehow a family too ( a distant cousin or something lol ) then it's really messed up.

*shudders* I don't even want to think about THAT possibility. That touches upon another reason family shouldn't be in business- and this is probably the most important point- if they turn out to do a crappy job, it's THAT much harder to get rid of them. Even if you have the guts to do it, it could get messy and personal if said family member then resents you for doing that. At least with unrelated people, you can replace them fairly easily.

Mr. Orser’s agent, David Baden, said he is no longer commenting on the issue.

“Brian has moved on and is busy coaching his skaters,” he said in an e-mail.

GOOD MOVE. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...putes-orsers-version-of-split/article1685522/

Finally we get the closure. I'm guessing if we ever find anything else (other news) it will be a joint statement. If ever.

Going to bed now. Thanks for the opportunity to discuss. Will be back again. ;) I didn't mean to offend anyone with my bluntness if I did.

Oh and Hersch updated his blog thing again http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com...on-kim-says-orser-lied-about-their-split.html

Apparently Orser is STILL not interested in coaching Mao. He affirms that there WAS an inquiry from Mao's team. Not that it matters all that much since it WASN'T about Mao, but there's our clarification. (We do not know when Hersch got this stuff... lol including Brian Orser's email. Way to go Hersch. :| Wonder if that's his personal email or his office email.)

I'll believe the first article. Anyways cheer up everyone. There's always sunrise after sunset. (Usually ;) )

She is STILL working with her programs with Canadian choreographers. Where do you want her to go? Sigh.

last I checked there's more than one rink in that area of Canada... it's not like Brian's is the only club out there.

Yes but does David have any kind of contract with the Cricket Club? I thought he was one of the directors too. If so it might be difficult for him to choregraph Yu-na's programs at another club in Toronto. I'm not saying it is or it isn't, I dont' know but I was just wondering.

He is based out of the Cricket Club, so yes, it wouldn't make much sense to go to another rink, at least from his perspective.

I am really disappointed to Yuna. What she's done to Brian Orser is very rude and bad behavior.
Stop to tell a lie,B??? How could she say so...
I'm not a fan of her anymore! Grow up Yuna.

I understand you're angry and disappointed but if you're really a REAL FAN of Yuna, you won't quit on her but hopeful that it will be resolved soon and learn from this.

To me, Orser had no choice. Yuna and her team should have said something first, or communicated with Brian to issue a joint press release.

The thing is that Orser very well may have had no choice but to issue a statement about the break up. And maybe the first interview. But here's a thing, he absolutely had a choose on what he said, the words he used, and the picture he painted with those words.

When I broke up with my boyfriend from grad school, yes I needed to tell all our mutual friends about the break up. But what I had a choice about was whether or not, I wanted to tell everyone want my boyfriend had done, for me to make that decision (He didn't cheat but he did something). I choose instead to just say we broke up, good guy, just didn't work out. And did my very best to be civil the entire time, and since he was mad I dumped him, he was rude to me for awhile. Not obviously to all but kind of rude. I just dealt with it silently. But here's the thing because I choose to keep the inner details about our break up, private. Everyone was able to remain friends. Nobody had to pick and chose. And I even later got a couple of months later a direct apology from for being rude to me after the break up. I handled the break up with the boyfriend this way though because a couple of years later, I had a bad break up in a friendship with a friend. And both of us were going on and on telling all of our mutual friends all the bad that happened. And the whole thing got ugly and messy, almost costing other friendships. I learned from that one and promised myself that from now on, I'd try to keep my relationship issues between me and that person as much as possible.

He doesn't have to talk about her mom making the decisions, he doesn't have to talk about how they mistreated them All he has to say is the broke up, and refute anything they say. So to say Orser has no choice is ridiculous. He has a lot choices in the words he uses. Just as Yu-na had a choice in whether she would say Orser lied. But the thing is Yu-na had stopped making those kind of comments.

here's the article link but it's in Korean.

http://news.naver.com/sports/index....&mod=read&office_id=311&article_id=0000029850

David wilson said that he did not know the fact that Brian Orser opens FS music to the public. Brian did not mention if he is going to say about FS music at all. I(David) am shocked and embarrassed by this. ALTS added "Breaking up between skater and coach is general and we do not want this situation to make thing worse."

Found it through GOOGLE TRANSLATE. LMAO. Um. I cannot read Korean. But google translate states the gist of katiekk12's summary. Don't think its a big deal. Probably wasn't even supposed to make the public. Yuna for your sake dump your ATS representatives ASAP.

Why would the agency drag David Wilson into this. He obviously doesn't want to take sides and now you're adding a slant against his wishes as I'm fairly certain David did not intend this going public but probably meant it as a personal and professional (and private) apology that he had nothing to do with this. Ridiculous.

Well, we should get the whole English storm in the morning. I'm off to bed. In a good mood. Its still settling better than I figured. Even my own interest is kind of moving on... (not my heart but my interest). I still love Wilson's James Bond short program.

The agency didn't drag him into it. He spoke his mind, and he should. HE is the one who's making the program and the fact that Brian just gave it away to the media without even telling him is really unheard of and disrespectful (ironic?). I don't know what ATS did wrong here. I think their statement was very clear and professional altho their English version might suck.

I can't believe orser is now posting emails. this whole thing has gone to far. Yu-na and ATS need to return to Korea and lay low until this all is forgotten with the new season. Then she can go back to Canada and met her choreographers at a different rink. That is, if she is still planing on competing.

Maybe David this because by revealing Yu-na's music without her permission, Orser hurt the concept of confidentiality at the Cricket Club. Lots of students besides just Orser's come to David for choregraphy and expect things to be kept under wraps about their programs. For Orser to do this because he has a personal issue with a skater, hurts HIS business as a choregrapher, and also the Cricket Club.

Actually Brian did her a favor. All the other competitors have LONG revealed their programs. I am a little bothered by this conspiarcy theory some of the Yu-na fans are expressing here and on the other thread. Please chill out.

Yes I am Yuna's fan . And I don't know why Brian interviewed SO MUCH(Korean media SBS ,MBC, KBS,YTN, and some newspapers / CTV, AFP etc)!!! Yuna didn't interview officially in Korean and other countries. It is not good manner as not only her former coach but the one involved directly. In Korea Brian's interview was shoking. So many station broadcasted his interviews but it's not a classy one like CTV or the news I linked.
He said every fault happened because of Yuna and her mother through tghe blunt and rude interview in Korea. Korean media that loves gossips so much produced other gossips. What was worse, Brian exposed her free music and said to wish her success POLITELY! But do you think I am a megalomaniac and everything is the plot? I think the truth should came out.

Yeah, Brian's interview never stops. so What? what does he wanna say? Wanna blame her or suport her new start? I don't really know what he exactly wanna say and why would he do this. I think the interewe was OK but maybe it's because of Yuna. all the fuss. It could have been better if they split u quiently. I wonder how does she take it.

It´s such a pity that Yu-Na and her people did not handle this separation better. So common that skaters leave their coach, but not in this way, ugh... Just remembering what a nice letter Yu-Na wrote to Hilary Clinton, why did she not send a nice letter to Orser to inform him about the matter? That should not have been a too difficult thing to do for a coach who was an important element in bringing her the Olympic gold medal.

Poor Yu-na... Orser for sure is overreacting but her agency management seems to be sooooo unskilled... :-(

well, I don't know what's going on here... but I know that Orser's words are changing . Maybe because of such many interviews.
