Julia will still only be 15 yrs old by the 2014 Olympics if I'm not mistaken.

But with her birthday (May 6 1998) she will just barely make the cutoff mark of turning 15 before July 1, 2013 to be eligible for Sochi.

Adelina into first though Julia did beat her in the FS. I honestly think her score for what she just did was too high, but happy for her all the same.

I say if Alena can get 118+ for her skate then I think it's kind of fitting for Adelina to get her score and she did come in 2nd in the long so far which was the right result. Plus she had a great short.

Julia will still only be 15 yrs old by the 2014 Olympics if I'm not mistaken.

She was born June 5, 1998. She will just barely make the July 1 deadline, but she makes it. The official rule (if I'm not mistaken, which I of course may be) is that she must be 15 by July 1, 2013. She will turn 15 on June 5, 2013. There is no requirement that you must be 16 at the Olys, it just works out that most everyone is. The requirement involves the previous July.

I'm HAPPY for Adelina)) And I honestly don't think that her result was so inflated...

Me either. I thought the judging was fair. And Adelina didn't win the FS - Julia did, and Adelina came out ahead because of the SP difference. Both girls are good. The only one I thought was really gifted was Leonova.

So...who goes to what championship? (I put "J" after the placement of skaters too young for ISU championships.)

Welcome back Adelina
and congrats to the lovely Julia Lipnitskaya for 2nd place and to all the participants

Adelina should compete both :) in defending her Junior Worlds title and Youth Olympics

Adelina has proven me wrong, she is even more rock solid that Elizaveta
and Julia - a darkhorse for the olympics , she reminds me so much or Tara Lipinski, LOL

So, so far this season out of 2 JGPs, JGPF, some Russia Cup comp, and now RN, I believe Julia hasn't made any major mistakes. No falls, just a couple of wonky landings here and there. What a steely competitor! And she had a few falls last season, so she's learned to deal with the pressure pretty well. I hope she can keep it up when the pressure increases even more, especially if she does senior GP next season.

ita...

I have mixed feelings about the results. On one hand, Julia deserved to win, because she skated both programs brilliantly. On the other hand, Adelina skated beautifully and looked like a real senior, even her mistakes at the second half didn't hurt my impression. So I guess I'm okay with that, only two points difference overall and Julia's winning of the LP seems fair. Congratulations to Adelina for winning her third National title (and she is only 15!) and to Julia for her first National medal! Way to go, girls!
Guess Makarova and Leonova go to Euros, the third spot will be decided between Shelepen, Biryukova and Korobeinikova

I am wondering how Makarova could get 65+ in pcs while her tech score was in 40s.

Well, objectively, PCS and TES are supposed to be separate. So Makarova could have many underrotations but sell the heck out of her program (which I incidentally don't like) and receive high PCS, which is how it's supposed to work.
