2025-26 Russian Nationals Women's Short Program

ofc it applies to the others, which is why it's ridiculous to hang the medal on anyone's neck ahead of time
and idk why you're talking about judges ignoring eras when the judges here ignored Adeliia's 3A, which was definitely 100% rotated
Adelia's 3A definitely not a q. If we're going to call that a q, the world champion would have 5 or 6 q's and underrotations in a free skate.

If Adelia can't compete at the Olympics due to factors out of her control, then we can hang an Olympic gold around her neck if she has a great free skate.

No-one will be saying to Kaori, Liu, Glenn, Chiba, hey you didn't really win gold did you because you didn't prove it against the best skater or skaters in the world.

No they will say you are the champion, best in the world.

Is this the positive91 character arc? :laugh3:
Yesterday's performance was electric though. It was like Adelia at Omsk World's. She wasn't anything like that at the GP stages somewhat sullen. Maybe she's been just counting down the days the last few months, life has been in a holding pattern waiting for the next two months where she will be maximising everything in training.

Her SP before was as good aside from the 3A. She said she only started jumping 3A a week ago I'm surprised it's already this competent. Definitely gives confidence for what she can do within another 2 months. 3A might be her best jump again.

There are no quads in women's SP. Kamila broke 90 total internationally. 86 is quite fair frankly. Her GOEs internationally aren't much lower based on qualifications I think it's quite reasonably she breaks 80 at Olympics if she skates clean. If she got 31.5 PCS for skating half as good as this just 33 is reasonable and easily enough for an 80.

Kamila had 49.97 internationally. Kostornaia 49.48. Kihira 48.17.

160 is relatively low for Adeliia in FS. She has scored close to 180. She is definitely hoping to be in the 170s.
Imo if she’s getting over 80 with a 3A then so should amber and Alyssa because they are just as good if not better skaters with the maturity.

Adelia yesterday skated very fast and powerfully - all of her 3 jumps were very quick so she had time to do 2 x level 4 spins so nicely - that's why she got 86+. Kaori Sakamoto is actually quickest (only one)at ISU however she does not deliver difficult jumps.

well, clearly you and a lot of other Russian fans will be 😁

Adeliia's 3A looks easier than ever before. The entry is significantly more seamless than last season. Not so much tentative anticipation. It was cleanest in her SP training run where it didn't even look like she was trying.

It will be a lot more than that...
I can't compare it to previous iterations as I don't follow her that much, but I don't find it a pretty jump at all. Long entry on a very tight Circle that I suppose helps her spin the heck out of it. But it's tiny, relatively speaking, and like most of her jumps, very muscled...

OMG 3A so easy, the step sequence had the old energy to it.

85 I think.

Be afraid be very afraid. They're going to have to ban her at the last minute that is all that's left.
Ummmm... that has to be one of the most inflated scores that I've seen in a long time. But hey, it is Russian Nationals after all. She will get 10 points less internationally for that...

Less than 90 degrees. Fast covered a lot of distance, great flow.
Hmm... I would have said not aesthetically pleasing at all, very tight circle, strange change of direction due to the setup that seems designed to help her spin it rather than jump up into it, small, and unpleasantly muscled. So taking that into account, I would not have given it GOE over the moon or anything...

Ummmmm... not. Not an 80 plus score internationally. No freaking way...

Her PCS was 31.5 at qualifications for skating half of what she did this time with zero reputation. I don't know if you think she's going to get 26 at Olympics out of nowhere or what exactly.
She doesn't need PCS of 26 to stay below 80. Let's face it, she's not likely to get higher than 33-34 in PCS in the Short, and her GOEs are likely to be a little lower too, based on the GOEs she received in Beijing and what others are receiving. If Amber and Ami's best 3As get mean GOE marks of a little over +2, then Adeliia's isn't going to get +3 like she did here.

She definitely still has a very good chance of scoring in the high 70s, and sure, maybe even in the 80s with a generous panel (as so often at the Olympics), but not 86. High 70s would most likely still be enough to be at least in the top 3 after the SP, definitely in the top 6.

I'm not arguing for 86. 33-34 PCS is high enough for me that's the score I suggested as well. It's easy to say GOEs will be lower but I actually don't see great evidence of that. Even the commentators at qualifications mentioned how good her GOEs are. I guess we had different views of how qualification went cause all of her jumps were poorly executed and she still got good GOEs. 210 is very high for how low her BV was and how poor the execution was. She was in such bad shape she tried to let Alina go instead still got 210. I think only thing she will get less GOE on is the Axel and Lutz which I don't see as enough to put her at 75 like the others are arguing. Someone said "maybe 75" that's just ridiculous. 80 is highly reasonable.

75 for the skate from Nationals, maybe, if they called her 3A as a q. If not, probably in the 77-79 range. With a generous panel (as at the last Olympics and the Qualifying competition), maybe 80-81. Not higher, I think.
