I have to say one thing although it's a bit off topic: I find it absolutely annoying that some people use European as a general term for all countries in Europe as if there were no difference.
Can someone please explain to me why a British judge has a reason to hold up a Russian skater and an American judges hasn't???
Well since most European countries are now belonging to EU, why can't they just nominate ONE judge to represent them all? haha![]()

Well said.
. Congratulations to the ladies on the podium. Caroline showed a champion's heart; now she needs to take care of her body.

That will upset many of the Fans here who insist she is a downgrade skater. Too bad, the judges do not agree with those fans.

The Russian federation was terribly mean to his girls, some months ago. I read some quotes which were scaring.
Looks like another bad skate from an European girl, I hope the scores will reflect that, cough, cough, Kostner.![]()
the best of the best,
no one should dare to be better then them, etc...Looks like another bad skate from an European girl, I hope the scores will reflect that, cough, cough, Kostner.![]()
Isn't it obvious? Why are those cheering for Bin Laden mostly from Middle East countries. You'd expect only his country men would be proud of him.![]()
You are correct, but for those who parade around with 'my country has the best figure skaters' is the most annoying fan assumption. Good athletes come from all walks of life.I cannot answer that question but I think that blaming things on national bias is a bit speculative, stating the fact, like here, that the scores didn't match the skating is not, this leaves people to fill in the blanks for the judge's motivation for the disconnect.
I'm soo tired to read all this envious things about kostner and the european ladies...what's up?? only the americans and japanese are allowed to win a medal??? If a skater skate well she/he deserves to win ! no matter f se/he is european, canadian, american, japanese, turkish, italian, african o whatever!! stop looking at the country and start looking at what they did and how they skate!
If you just look at the points caroline won the long by 6 points but she was 10th in the short (not 4th or 5th but 10th!!!with what, 15th points far from the leader?) while leonova was 4th with a very good margin!! so...no scandal over the judgement! instead of saying these envy things, try to be happy for caroline, who did very well and ended up in 2nd after that short!

Nobody is jealous of Kostner except perhaps her European compatriots who desperately want somebody, anybody from that part of the world on the podium.
Kostner is simply a laughing stock in FS history. I certainly don't envy any current European lady's skill sets. Those Finish girls are pretty, but they don't jump...![]()
