Ladies' Long Program

Wow, Miki's costume + makeup is striking, and she looks comfortable & confident, wonder how she will do. Kimmie looks relaxed as usual for the warmup. Little Caroline looks a bit nervous? Now you see them all on ice at once, she literally seems half as big as Miki, no wonder she's afraid of having one of the other girls jumping over her head.

Caroline's costume looks as if recycled from last year. But I loved her sp dress. Anyway, I'm torn between my desire to feel happy for Elene and sympathy for other skaters who had disastrous skates.

Color me upset that NBC didn't broadcast the FS of Dube & Davison or the FD of Belbin & Agosto. Seriously, what's up with that?

Sad

One thing I love and miss is the fluff right now. I know there usually is very little fluff on the GP, but I would still like a little something, SA had a few last year (okay. one or two. but hey, i get spoiled after nationals)

Daaangggg!! Mira looks AMAZING and verry well put together, especially with that oufit. (this is before she skates...haha)

I can't believe they focused so much on Evan's silver and not at all on B&A's gold. What is UP?! Maybe it's because they had more time to edit the recap for men's, and less for the pair's event.

On second though, Miki looks like she's in discomfort and pain. Uh-oh...

Shucks, just before the commercials, Caroline was about to warm up a 3S, I wanted to see if she manages it fully rotated, shoot!

Oh, Mira's landing all her jumps so far (nice program for her), though the first 3Z looks 2-footed and cheated, can't believe she even manages to stay on her feet on that...

Wow is that Mira? Makeup, beautiful hairdo, nice costume. Wow.

Mira Leung CAN

Triple lutz- clean, a bit shaky
Triple flip- very nice, nice flowing edge out
triple salchow- very nice again
combination spin- camel, pulls into a donught, pulls blade up, nice
layback spin- pulls leg up into Biellman, decent, not great layback position
spiral sequence- holds leg up sideways ala Arakawa early on, quite nice
triple toe- clean
double axel-double toe-single toe- I think that last jump was popped
triple flip- stepped out
I missed a jump and spin while screen was buffering
footwork sequence- moves well to music
combination spin- camel, sit, layback, camel-donut, pretty nice

Quite nice I thought, too bad about those couple mistakes late.

Wow! Good for Mira!! A nice 3Z-2T late, late in the problem, like she found second wind. She's a bit slow and sluggish today, but much better presentation than usual and for this time, I'm so glad she went against her coach's advice this time (about the music, her coach didn't like her skating to Rachmaninoff). Good for her!

Silly NBC, missing all this drama in the first group!
I think if the ladies finish before 6, they may take time out to show Belbin and Agosto at least.

In my opinion, a VERY nice showing for the first competition of the season, but she can do better. And faster. Haha.

I can't believe they focused so much on Evan's silver and not at all on B&A's gold. What is UP?! Maybe it's because they had more time to edit the recap for men's, and less for the pair's event.

I guess they believe that singles skating deserves all the attention. I am feared that this might be the strategy all season and pairs and dance competitions will be orverlooked. That would be sad, especially, in the year when these two desciplines are more exciting this year.

She can land those jumps, I think Mira has pretty soft knees, similar to Oda's. that's why she rarely falls.
