Joannie WELL INTO THE LEAD!

Nakano is doing well. Didd a 3A, hope it's rectified. I hate Tracy to put her down. Joannie skated well, but her choreography was not necessarily the most complicated one either.

She should be able to beat Joannie based on spins and jump difficulty easily...

Yukari's staying on her feet, but her jumps seem short of rotation, including that triple axel. Her costume hurts my eyes tho. I shouldn't look directly at it.

Will be interesting to see if the 3x is ratified or downgraded. It looked quite underrotated to me, but what do I know.

I know it's not much, but I'll do PBP on the last 4 skaters. Joannie got 112.70 on the FS and 168.18 overall to go into the lead for now...pretty good score.

Yukari Nakano
Capriccio Espagnol
Lovely red dress

PULLS OUT 3A! Close on rotation.
3F-2T, wrapped as usual but nicely landed
Great combo spin with good speed and positions except the ugly layback
3Z, with the wrap
Very pretty 3S
Nice flying sit
Combo spin with a nice scratch to end
Spiral very nice, improved from last year
Steps into only 2F
NIce 3T-2T-2L (I think)
Circular step to music but a bit slow
3S-2T, very nice again
Her fabulous donut to close
Big smile!

She needs a PB, but if the 3A was ratified (it was close) she may get it

113.49 - the 3A was credited. PB and into 1st! YAY YUKARI!! I think Joannie's program was better crafted...but the pops on the 2A and 3S were costly, she beat Yukari on the PCS.

Mao did a clean program. She will win. However, her jump content is not there. No 3A. Still no 3S, no 3T...:bow:

I think her 3+3 was underrotated...

Who's that lady with glasses ? I saw her a lot. I saw her giving Pang & Tong , D&D a hug at Skate America. Now she is giving mao a huge hug..

Mao Asada

2Axel
3flip+3loop
3flutz
3loop
3flip+2loop
2Axel+2loop+2loop(last loop looked 2-footed to me)
2Axel

No toe or Salchow; jump arsenal lacks variety

5 triples to Joannie's and Yukari's 6.

Excellent performance from Asada, I think she will easily take the lead. It was a lovely skate to a lovely program, but I'm still waiting to see a spark from her. I think it would help if she could radiate joy instead of concentration. Hopefully that will come later in the season.

From the first 2 competitions. Mao and Mik do not seem to be in their games. Jumps are not there, no spark. Still early though..

Mao Asada
Fantasie Impromptu

Some choreo to open
2A instead of 3A
3F-3R, much better than SP
Camel into donut, does not compare to Yukari
3Z - flutz but such a light, lovely jump
Sit into pancake, improved from last year
LOVE the spiral sequence
3R or 3S, not sure sorry
3F-2R, nice
2A-2R-2R, so light and gentle
Combo spin slow and not the best positions except the lovely Biellmann
Love the step sequence, not overdone in the upper body and very mcuh to the music, but with the difficult moves
Final combo spin, the contortionist positions are nice but the basic ones are not
Lovely light 2A to close
She looks very happy!

That was very nice, much better than her Czardas program. She should have this in the bag, even without the 3A. Her expression is still quite subdued, but it suits the program.

119.58 - into 1st easily, but her 3F-3R was downgraded.

Emily doubled a jump, 3lo looks to me underrotated...

She should be knocked off the podium based on strong performances by Nakano and Joannie.
