Hughes skated well but cautiously, IMO. It was pretty blah overall. I have no idea where this will place her. The jumps appeared to be all there and well done.

Well, 5 triples but the simpler ones. I think she'll drop behind Joannie.

Only 103.70 - drops to 4th overall, as I thought. Joannie may medal.

Lepisto is totally spooked. Looks like Rochette will finish with the bronze — good for her — but at the same time you want to knock her in the head because if she had done even one of the jump combos that she flubbed at the end she would be in an easy second place.

I can't believe I missed it I had no idea it was this early.

Well, predictable results so far. :sheesh: I was right about the wide gap in points between Hughes and Asada. The two just aren't in the same league.

If this was actually her jump content, she must not have recieved any points for one of those 2x. You're only allowed to repeat if it's in a combo. Weird.

Oh, and I thought given Lepisto's jump content and how stiff and scared she looked out there that her marks were generous.

For the 2A, you max out at 3 and if you're doing 3 one must be a combo, which Mao did.
I'm guessing that she's going to try and make two of those 2As triples...but I'm not sure if she'll get there.

Except for unfortunate performance by Lepisto, wonderful skating by the women. Rochette would have won Skate America with her scores here but has to settle for 3rd. Asada was subpar still for her standard but wins easily, much better then her short, but this is not Asada at her best, so slow and hesitant, hopefully that will change later in the year. Like rain said you want to knock your head about Rochette a bit, since I am proud of her for a strong skate, but those 2 popped jumps at the end, drats! How close the decision was for 2nd makes me annoyed with how Nakano was gifted in the short too, how can she have gotten higher PCS in the short when she couldnt even today with a much better skate as well. :scratch: Still bravo to Nakano for landing the triple axel, and a strong overall skate for her. Hughes skated well, she looks much better then Skate America but her program left me flat today.
