Ladies Short Program

Nana Takeda - my sentimental favorite
Music: Tanguera

Great music for her, opens with a sort of smirk/smile
Lovely steps into 3T
3R-2T, the best 3R int he world today IMO
2A
Flying sit - low, but losing speed
Nice steady spiral sequence
Combo spin - losing speed and centering
As usua from herl, SLSS has some nice dramatic moves but not too complex
Nice fast layback with lovely arch, good changes of positions into Biellmann with great position but slow
Clean performance from her! Big smile to close.

Think she'll break 50 at least, her jumps are lower difficulty but they're well-executed
52.02 - 2nd
Good score for her!

Is it just me or does Hughes look worse then last year? She looks heavy and her jumps always look on the verge of underrotation.

Emily Hughes
I Got Rhythm
Nice red dress, I think it looks good on her
Missed this at Skate America last week...I like her so we'll see how this goes.

Nice 3F to open, but no real steps leading into it
SOme nice jazzy moves
Long edge into 3Z-2T, but nicely done
Sit spin with changes of position
Charlotte into nice 2A
Her back postiion has improved on her spiral! Nice flexibility as usual
Footwork with a lot of edge work, very nicely done to music
Layback into Biellmann great as usual, her Biellmann really is one of the best today
Nice final combo spin wish good positions and decent speed
Another clean performance and big smile!

Some people seem to dislike this program a lot, but I thought it was a great fit on her. Everything looks much improved from SA, this was a nice, neatly done performance and her skating didn't seem as heavy as it did at SA. I'd put her close to Lepisto.

And whaddaya know...58.72-2nd

Joannie's combination of triple flip-double toe landed pitched forward and very wobbly, she will probably get -GOE on it. Her triple lutz might have been a bit two footed too.

I agree. Unfortunately... But her overall skating was great IMO.

Joannie Rochette - PLEASE a clean performance with 3-3!!
BIG cheer from the crowd, pretty black dress with white embellishments
Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1

Intense look to opoen, nice opening moves to music
2A with nice arm variations on landing
3F-2T, forward on 3F :-(
Nice flying sit
Really very pretty choreaography
Seamless steps into 3Z, maybe a double-foot?
Nice, nice layback
Lovely steps to music...I think Joannie's and emily's are my favorites today
Spiral with nice amplitude and edges
Pretty Ina Bauer (wihtout a big back bend, but very pretty arms) into combo spin, good positions

I love this program, and it was clean I guess...but no 3-3 and not perfect. Hopefully she'll still score close to or above 60. At least she didn't fall apart.

55.48 - 3rd
I guess not terrible...Yukari and Mao should go 1-2.
