Ladies Short Program

The couple of small errors on the jumps cost Rochette. But she's not too far back, which is the important thing, not the placements. Rochette's new program is a stunner. It is dazzling. Loved it.Wow for the Finnish skater. Deservedly high marks.

Looks like Nakano will be back a ways, with a fall and only a triple/double combo.

FINALLY, Joannie gets PCS marks that are higher than the other skaters! 'bout time!

Yukari Nakano...
Fantasie Impromptu
Pretty blue dress, same color as Lepisto

Her arms are much softer than they used to be-very nice
3F-2T, big wrap as always but nicely done
3Z fall - she may end up lower than Joannie, it may be UR
Combo spin, the class of the field as far as spins go - really lovely
Layback - probably her weakest spin but not unattractive
Her spiral amplitude and steadiness have improved since worlds
Very soft, gentle steps with some good twizzles and edge work
Spread eagle into pretty 2A
Camel into donut - best donut everrrrrrrrrrrr and it goes on FOREVER.
Nice ending pose
She doesn't seem happy.

The music suits her, I suspect better than it'll suit Mao. It maybe be Chopin piano music but this piece isn't something you can just glide to like the Nocturne. Nice program but I guess not her night.

Ewww..."Before He Cheats" on the changeover
Red screen of death, but:
55.94 - 3rd, virtual tie with Joannie but beats her out DESPITE a fall

Wow, I'm kind of shocked. Did not think Nakano should have outscored Rochette, not by a mile. Everything between the jumps was pretty lacklustre and the jumps weren't thrilling either, plus a fall.

It was horrible to see that decision.:disapp:

I agree big time! Wow, Lepisto might end up being 1st in the shorts unless Mao gets very high pcs.

Okay, it's official . . . the judges for some reason are out to get Joannie . . . 2007 Worlds SP and now this! I'm disgusted!

Personally, I think it should go to Lepisto. But I don't think the judges will be able to stomache such a relative unknown at the top of the standings.

Well given that Mao's best program is close to scoring a 70 I doubt such small mistake will put her out of the lead. Would be very surprising.
