I highly doubt Tarasova is teaching Mao the jumps....Besides, I think it's one of those things where competition nerves can cause you to revert to old form under pressure.

Nope, I thought it was a great program and I can't wait to see it clean. There were so many transitions in it! :rock: She went straight from her 2A into her footwork. Nice to see.

Of course, but that's why I always thought Mao should continue flutzing and give a **** about that 1.5 deduction. If I recall it right, the only Lutz-mistake she did last year was at 4cc where she stepped out of it in the short. A cleanly landed 3 Flutz is still worth more than this rather questionnable 2 Lutz she performed.
After seeing her SP I feel kind of sorry for her because it just seems to much to handle for her this season: The two 3A, the Salchow, true lutz and the russian lady with the fur on her side ( :laugh: )... Poor Mao! Keep on working on the Axels and forget about the Lutz.. Nobody is perfect !
 
I was wondering how the judges made calls on Mao's prerotated backward A and flutzes. Really can't wait to see Mao's SP protocol.

Just wantched it again and I really like this programs, better than last year's in my opinion. I think its more difficult in cheo than Yuna's (I liked Yuna's as well), the steps into 3 Lutz and the 2 Axel right after footwork are very difficult but her makes it looks so easy, and she just float on the ice. Simply geogous!

After watching this program with music on(couldn't do it in the office earlier), i have to say this is an excellent program, choreography wise. It's very difficult as well, better than her last year's SP, superior to Yu Na's SP this year. But I really hate that dog-pee position.

Mao just needs to forget fixing 'flutz'. She'd better have a consistent and clean performance without messing around with some new & untested technique.
 
Well she may not be in first position, but I thought Mao looked beautiful. Dress was similar to her Worlds SP dress from last season, but very elegant and I love the long sleeves and soft mauve colour. She looks taller and thinner, gorgeous figure. I am really looking forward to the LP.

I love that program, too. It was filled with choreographic novelty. As you mentioned, immediately landing 2A she changed edges a couple of times on the landing foot, did three turn and go straight into the circular step sequence, all with the same foot! Her twiddles were as beautiful as ever.

Shame that she was behind the music by almost a whole bar when she entered that beautifully packed step sequence, compared with a practice session during JSF camp in august, when she precisely kept the music. I hope she will do it better next time.

It's nice to know that the program wasn't designed like that. I watched it on youtube, and I was disappointed by the audio. I can't stop wishing that she should have used the piano version instead.
 
The ladies may have been having problems because of ice temperature. It may have been too cold, which gives it more friction and requires more power to glide over. Just a theory. :)
