Ladies' SP

Looking at the list of skaters and scores, it seems Mirai got killed on PCS. Not getting it. She is very polished IMO, with some of the best spins out there. Fast, good positions. Hmmmmm.

Mirai has to skate last but right after Joannie. The energy will be drained from the arena after Joannie.
Still, Mirai did well skating last at Natls

Yes she did. I've been noticing that I seem to be more nervous for Mirai than I need to be....

FS orders out ALREADY?? Well, this is interesting since Rachel goes first, before the contenders. Can she put pressure at least on Ando and Rochette for the podium spot? Unfortunately I think Kim and Asada are out of reach for her. And Nagasu goes last...she handled it well at Nationals, but Olys is a whole 'nother ballgame. Depends on what position she finds herself in afterwards.

The top contenders in 2006 also brought it in the SP but only one person was able to stand up in the FS when it was all said and done. Will Thursday be a repeat of 2006 and 2002? The wait commences.

No disrespect to Miari, but we will know all of the medalist after Joannie skates

I don't quite agree with that. I think Mirai has the potential to really be a spoiler. Her GOE in the SP was amazing.

I've noticed that so far the winners was in the last (pairs), first (mens), and middle (ice dance) spot. So if you're in the 2nd spot, you're kinda doomed. Poor Miki!

There is always a chance, but I highly doubt she can make up 10 points plus have all the people in front of her fall apart

I'm a bit annoyed... she's fourth in TES!! If only her PCS were just a bit higher. I have said I think she stopped performing at certain moments. But really. A practically perfect skate ... and her natural grace and posture and positions....:scowl:

Miki's spot is good for her, i think skating after rachel wont put pressure on herself, my only concern is Mao, skating after Yuna will be very hard to put herself together eve if Yuna bombs

OMG, Kostner got 1.8 GOE on her combo... I almost thought she popped her 2T watching live. That's way higher then Mao's GOE and almost high as Kim's 3Lz+3T!!

I thought Mirai did a great job with her jumps, but IMO her presentation was lacking a bit. Interesting skate order for the FS. Mao will know what she needs to do and therefore have the opportunity to one up Yuna. I think Joanne is a shoe in for a medal unless she has serious trouble in the FS. She definitely deserved her placement tonight. I think she and the top 2 ladies skated with the most maturity and polish.

8 Gedev. 2.70
9 Makarova 2.56
10 Flatt 2.50

Wow look at Cheltzei Lee. Great for her.. This is where they killed Ando, and Flatt too.

The American ladies did better then I expected, I personally wish it would of been Sasha and Ashley here though. And my head would of exploded if Michelle had came back and her and Sasha were the team :)

Not so much the point to win a medal as it is about her finishing well and as high as possible. Her pcs will get a boost by skating in last group, especially if she performs with a little more spark.

I don't see Mirai medaling but it doesn't matter. This is looking to be a great competition for her. Her "real" international breakthrough so to speak. Worlds should solidify it, especially since a few of the top contenders probably won't be there.

Hmm... I guess they had to find some way to put her up in her spot. If you look at the score they are very close, starting from Miki.
