Legacy on Ice: Benefit to Support AA Flight 5342 Victims

Can't find any info about this anywhere. I was watching MSNBC yesterday and about to walk out of my room when I saw a feature about the AA crash and honoring the figure skaters. I unmuted and Gracie Gold was there talking about how she was helping run the skating workshop in Wichita. She was going to Chicago (IIRC) so while they are all in the airport together she had a flight an hour earlier.

She talked about walking around the gate area and speaking with several different skaters who took photos with her and thanked her. One posted a video about her on TikTok before the flight. Gracie was so agonized talking about the folks she knew who were from Delaware.

She pretty much broke down in tears during the interview and so did I. :-( She was so heartbroken. I couldn't even imagine working with and talking with so many different people right before they perish. My heart goes out to everyone.

Finale...all the skaters take to the ice in a giant line. Madi & Evan have a step out feature rotational lift. Ilia steps out for a one foot back flip. Amber performs a gorgeous combo spin. The group form a heart and takes one final bow.

That was a beautiful, moving event. It was so touching to see some of the young skaters perform. And wonderful to see people like Jeremy Abbott and Ilia Kulik. So glad it was shown live on Peacock. Thank you labgoat for your live reporting.
