Some fans are really so rash and impetuous in their over zealous over protective actions.
Zijun is partly responsible with all her cryptic messages and action. If there were truth in the conspiracy theory, her reaction is not the wisest or beneficial to herself. The fed can't really decide on the Olympic entries 5 years in advance and even if they had biased intentions, Zijun's best action would be to prove herself by being the best Lady they have. These other skaters don't need the distractions at this time.

It is not wise and advisable to trash a particular skater, when you donot have the whole picture of the incidence.
Better just stick with facts.

I don't trash skaters. In this case I'm commenting on the particular situation if the current speculated story were true. I don't have to agree with every action of every skater I like. As well, I also defend skaters who are not my favorites when they are being trashed.
Zijun is very young and I don't expect her to always be right or wise or responsible for situations beyond her control. Whatever the truth is in this case, I still appreciate and support her as a very talented and beautiful skater and wish for her brilliant career.
Why are they attacking Wenjing? She has nothing to do with this.
wenjing is very active on Weibo regarding Zijun swap event lately. My best suggestion is to read it yourself, of course that is assuming you understand the nuances of Chinese.
I have no more comments regarding this.

I guess her supportive message to Zijun is being interpreted as not so supportive. It too was kind of cryptic for those of us who admit we don't know the real story.
I hope everybody would just relax and focus on the what is really important at the moment.

It turns out Wenjing "accidentally" retweeted a post of one of her long-time skating fan and the post's content happened to be criticizing Zijun's misconduct. The poster doesn't specify what misconduct that Zijun has done though she has hinted in various other posts that it is related to a skip of a recent doping test.
Zijun's fans got angry at Wenjing retweeting such a post. And considering Wenjing's last comment to Zijun's weibo doesn't sound quite supportive and also the poster is Wenjing's long time fan, Zijun fans are even more convinced that Wenjing is playing a role in the current crisis.

Wenjing and Zijun seem to get along very well, according to posted photos together in their free time, so I would be very very surprised if Wenjing, no matter what the circumstances is criticizing Zijun in the public ...

God knows what happened between these girls. Remember the crazy social media fight between Zijun and Kexin Zhang four years ago? I wasn't a fan of figure skating back then. But their quarrel is so notorious that many old fans still mention it from time to time... I have to say that the Chinese fed needs to do something in helping their skaters learn how to project a better public image.
what was the reason for their quarrel? Did Kexin felt betrayed by her fed for supporting Zijun as Zijun is (maybe) now?
I think the Chinese fed should learn to project a better public image themselves first. Because no matter what the issue is right now, they're not handling this situation the best way. Also they didn't handle the pair's partner swap very good either.
Now that could be either because of incompetence (the best option) or they just are that messy and uncaring for their skaters or both (worst option).

At least the fed didn't lie about her not training regularly.
However, there is a relatively new and very successful training method that actually schedules a period of rest for the athlete before competition. Hope this actually works for Zijun.

I didn't witness the quarrel between Zijun and Kexin which took place before sochi as I wasn't into figure skating back then. But old fans said it is related to who gets to go to the olympics.
Then about one year after sochi, Kexin revealed some more info on weibo. She just criticized Zijun for being a hypocritical person, not as innocent and delicate as the public might see from the outside.
Zijun's fans attacked Kexin as a bad person who crazily wanted Zijun to quit Olympics. Kexin retorted that that it is the opposite: It is Zijun who wanted others to quit Olympics together with her. As before sochi, Zijun was in a terrible condition due to growth and bad coach relationship. So Zijun wanted to give up and she wanted Kexin to give up together with her. It is Kexin who encouraged Zijun to never give up.

They are not saying that Wenjing influenced the fed's decision, but that she is not supportive and trying to disseminate faked (at least in their opinion it is faked) info regarding the reason of Zijun's swap.
My two cents:
So every time before olympics, skaters get into quarrels. It is partly due to the Chinese fed's non-transparent selection criteria as who goes to which competition. Just hope that as 2022 is approaching, the fed can gradually make some improvement in this area.

Saying skaters get into quarrels before every Olympics is generalizing since it only happened with Zijun in these two cases. These days these young athletes and their fans are into social media so discords get played out very publicly with huge inputs and blow-ups from supporters of different camps. As well, today's young skaters are more into individualism, unlike the pioneering generation.

Yeah...Zijun is quite active on social media... And in my eyes, despite her delicate appearance, she is actually not a soft sweetheart. She is ambitious and fierce inside. Not the type of personality that I would personally like, but I have to admit that is actually very good personality for a competitive athlete. That is also why I believe that she can do extremely well at WC this time. All the toughness she has experienced lately will only make her stronger instead of crashing her.
