Simply stunning SP from Mai with such a pristine sheen of refined artistry and immaculate movement and expression in all her elements: picturesque spins, seamless transitions, marvelous musicality and fluidity in her steps and jumps with such a lovely deep knee bend and flair with her extended arm on exit to her triple flip. For me, this season Mai also has the deepest emotional resonance and most beautiful artistry. It is a great inspiration to witness the profound depth of this performance with the travails she has faced in battling back from disease and extreme weight loss last season and in my opinion her unjust underscoring and placement in the Grand Prix and Nationals. I really hope she skates just as great in the LP. She was still underscored here especially in PCS. I really hope she skates just as great in the LP. My ideal Olympic SP performance this season is one I imagine in my mind even if it doesn't coincide with the real one in space and time and for me this season Mai just made that moment for me emotionally especially since I feel she deserved to be there and since this performance moved me so deeply.
