Maria Sotskova

wow, she really improved her skating skills and speed, she has a chance to breakout amongst russian top 3 this season.

IMHO, this LP is simply breathtaking. I do love every minute and how she takes her time to present the choreography so beautifully. Peter did a great job and the transition into her flip, those long glides with extended arms and lovely posture, the footwork sequence, the spiral into that last 2a :drama: And her speed has improved and in this program, she was able to maintain it. Truthfully I think we have a masterpiece on our hands :drama: Perform it often and well my butterfly :points:

Not a fan of her yet, but the LP program is just exquisite, so I'm intrigued to know who choreographed this. I felt she was a bland skater with so-so SS among the current Russian young crop although she had elegant and delicate qualities. However perhaps she can make a big breakthrough with the program on seniors. Her puberty monster came prematurely, so she struggled for about one or two seasons on junior circuits, but I think her jumps become solid now without any edge error. I don't worry about her costume because she has been a best dresser.

Just saw her test skates. I think these programs are just going to be incredible. I see that ethereal quality coming out in her. She's starting to achieve beautiful lines also.

On a side note, who was the birthday boy on Masha's instagram? :o

Finally got around to watching her test skate and she looks beautiful :luv17: Still needs bit more time with it, but I think it'll be gorgeous. Hope she does well this season.

I've watched her new programs again as I am starting the day.

Maria will compete at Ondrej Nepela Memorial this week. I am looking forward to see the new programs with better angles. She must be in a good shape, I hope they worked on the spins too.

Her main competitors will be Julia Lipnitskaya, Da Bin Choi and Mariah Bell. I expect a podium finish for Maria which means she has to beat at least one of these strong skaters.

I don't think that this skaters are strong. Maria has to win this tournament with ease.

The feed died just as she started.
Here's a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNuEvJZCqkk includes just the footwork, flip, and 2a. It is being reported that she put a hand down on her lutz and only a 2t.

Looks like she changed her footwork sequence, pity cause I liked the original. Well she did get a personal best in PCS by over a point so its a start :agree:

She looked upset in the K&C. I bet she comes back like a Spartan for the long. Good luck!!!

Beautiful dress and skating  Also feels strange to see her with Buyanova at the K&C. I can't stop thinking that Maria's skating style become more powerful after changing her team. Her movements in the steps are big, reminding me Sotnikova.

Just got a good look at her SP and boy that camera angle really show that she got arms and legs for dayssss, wow  Just loving her and Polina T. silhouette on the ice. Love the arm movement at the beginning of the step sequence and she didn't seem slow to me in this video versus at test skates. Oh and she changed the entrance to her camel spin!!! Second highest PCS :yes2: Dress looks really nice as well, love the back :luv17:
