The funny thing is in Germany, where the copyright law is taken to new extremes, the Eurosport commentators often comment on Youtube videos. They are like "ah, you can watch that and that and that and this skater and that program on Youtube, blabla" So even they use that and Youtube is the only way to access videos for some people all around the World. So there is that. You're not doing the sport any favours like this. I understand that commentary videos are another thing but a competition that is long over with no commentary should be allowed on YT.
it says 1.61 on Japanese wiki, it sounds right to me, I don't think she's taller than that?
My Japanese isn't really good so it might be some mistake, but I think I get most of it.
the caption of the news says she grew 15cm (about 6 inches) in last two years, so that man basically says "when you getting taller, your axle (jumping axle) getting taller as well, it becomes very hard to control your balance (while doing jumps), she (Marin) has a really great ability over controlling her growing body." I think it's just a compliment to her that she can keep her jump ability during her puberty, we all know that's a really great accomplish for female skaters.
)Marin have already selected the music for SP and FS and she will go USA and Canada for choreography in May.
It is no surprise if Marina Zueva will work for choreography to her again. (Smile and Spring sonata were well-suitable program for Marin)
I wonder that who will work with the choreography for her in Canada. David Wilson, Shae-Lynn Bourne, Lori Nichol or Jeffrey Buttle again?! (For information, last season Jeff came to Japan and work with the choreography)

I would loveeeeee for her to work with Tom Dickson again. But at the end, I just hope her programs will be amazing
I love Tom Dickson. His choreographys are really amazing, such intricacy, innovative ideas, beautiful nuance, great connection with the music
Beetlejuice was really a great program, and all the works he has done with Miyahara were gorgeous too So i'd be really happy to have one of his choreo for Marin :luv17:I can't wait to know what musics she chose!

Yes, I read a news about her and she said she will go to USA and Canada for choreo this summer, so I guess it's still Marina and Jeff.
Last season, Jeff work with Marin in Japan (should be late March) and Jeff is scheduled ice show in Japan late May and early June (Fantasy on Ice 2017), if Jeff will do the choreography for her, I wonder that why not schedule in Japan rather than in Canada.
Jeff is a good choreographer, but I don't think it is suitable for Marin (or ladies single skater) IMO. I hope she can work with other choreographer.

What a shame! But she has to work with the ones that make her happy, in order to really enjoy the choreo and the program.
Marin has the potential to perform better and better the programs as the season goes on: R+J, at the start of the season, seemed to me a little flat, without great changes in power, choreo and interpretation at the climax of the program; but then, she performed it quite beautifully at Yokohama, and in Taipei it was an exquisite work of art. So I have no doubt that she will make the choreography she gets this year amazing once again :luv17:

What is it like working with Tom?
Marin: So strict (laughs). If you don’t pick up the bit of choreography he teaches you right away, he’ll simplify it down. That’s why you really have to work to get it right away or you’re in trouble. I have to work to keep up.
There are so many connecting elements in a program. It must be so difficult to keep all in mind as you skate.
Marin: But, there are details in the program I want people to see so I do my best to remember it all, even if only a few people end up noticing them.
What sort of program did Tom give you?
Marin: He gave me a story to express. When he is doing a piece of choreography, he is describing the story aloud and thinking as he creates. For instance, I work to express the story during the step sequence of the freeskate. I want to be able to express the story to the audience as I skate.
If you look at Satoko's FS The Planets, there are subtle differences in choreography from competition to competition. He and Satoko are both meticulous so they work very well together but I think Marin is looking for something else.

Totally agree beki, I love her unique entry to the salchow! I tried it myself when I was practising the other day and it's really tough to do, although it does generate nice pop (not the bad kind of pop hehe) on the jump! :agree:

I am just in total awe of how she is able to make every movement look effortless, and the fact that I don't get a feeling of "rehearsed performance" from any of her performances. For example, as much as I very much admire Yuna Kim's skating, I always found her performances to be very deliberately "performed", which I personally didn't enjoy as much. I think this has a lot to do with natural personality!
Really, really hope Marin lives up to her massive potential in the coming years!
