Stephen CARRIERE: dorky looks, nice skate.
Will be in 1st now?
They areAw come on, dorks are cute.
Verner skated well but I highly doubt he will win. He singled one of his triple axels which he needed to have any chance. I doubt his PCS will match Takahashi.
man! If only he didn't pop that axel, woulda easily won this thing!
Oh well, atleast he did really well and came back strong after his poor first event. Good to see the judges give him PCS almost equal to Takahashi too.I'm glad to see Verner back, he has very nice jumps, that quad was gorgeous!
One thing I dont like about the new system is you get more points out of falling on a quad and doing 2 triple axels, then landing a clean quad, doing 1 triple axel, and popping the other. That is because you lose 7 points for popping the triple axel to a single, only 4 for falling on the quad. Under the old system a guy who landed a clean and beautiful quad and triple axel without falling would atleast be favored as far as jumps over one who fell on a bad quad attempt, and did 2 triple axels.
so you basically believe a single axel is worth more than a fall on a quad. Isn't the major part of the difficulty of jumps is getting the rotations in.Takahashi also had better ride out on his 2 axels jumps. I think it is odd that Verner quad was his cleanest and most beautiful jump. He had very little flow on his triples.
