Nathan Chen

very happy with the SCI performance. Knew he would bounce back. Still not really liking the music choices but nobody is perfect... now i wonder.. am i the one who is imperfect since I do not like the musical selection or is it Nathan who is imperfect? :)

I would say the fact that your SN is spelled Chan and not Chen shows your imperfect fandom for Nathan.

At least partly, it could be Nathan's imperfect performance. So many ppl didn't appreciate Glass until Nathan's peak performance of it at Worlds.

I do think both choices are too similar and don't show off his range and versatility as a performer. If he's sticking to the Mozart FS I'd prefer his SP be in the vein of Caravan.

As for SCI, Nathan gave a controlled performance a la WTT. He could have done that at SKAm but I guess they wanted to move in the direction of the ambitious layout they were preparing for the 2nd half of the year. I choose to trust in the choices of Nathan and his team..

for the records : i trust in the team's choices, especially for tech content or strategy. Just not a fan of the Mozart.

More nice words from Canadian coach Joanne Mcleod

And a Russian, too: Irina Rodnina praises his artistry.

Congrats from Team Panasonic
And John Wilson
And USFS

Glimpse of Raf watching Nathan's FS

Nathan spoke on the Ice Skating Podcast at around 8m55s. Sounds like he wants to enter a competition between now and GPF.

What competitions that actually Nathan can attend between now and GPF? I am glad he was going for one competition more.

There are Championships Series events like the one Mariah entered a few weeks ago. But it's not clear if he was talking about competing in case he doesn't qualify for GPF, or in addition to GPF. Which is silly because mathematically he can't be beaten by 6 other skaters.

😂😂 Yes, I also laughed when I heard he said he will watch other GP series and hope he can be on GPF. Anyway, I guess if he attends the Championships Series, it would be Washington held on Nov 17-20.

Q&A with Maiia K. She says she'd like to be Nathan's friend and that he is the best skater in the world.

Nathan and Sota: Then and now
Back when Sota was struggling with injury Nathan said in a Japanese interview that he wanted Sota to come back.

I was watching the Breeders Cup tonight and they had a segment of a bunch of NBC folk making their picks to win (not there but from taped segments). Tara and Johnny were shown as was Nathan! Nathan picked "Knicks Go" and it won! Anyway, that was literally all he said was the name of his pick. Tara and Johnny picked "Stiletto Boy". Was a nice surprise to see him featured!
