I'm pretty sure I read in a past thread that there's somewhere on the internet that tells you if a particular non-war-horsie piece of music has been used by a skater, in competition or in exhibition. I've got a couple of songs/pieces that I've used in ballroom dance that I think would translate to the ice as well. Since I don't go to the galas or shows, and often only manage the time to watch pairs and dance at competitions, but not singles, I don't want to use something even for a club show that I'm not aware has been used a lot. Is there actually a website somewhere with that information, or am I just imagining I read about it?
That's the site I was thinking of. I had two songs in mind; one's been used a lot, I see, although not the cover version we used in ballroom (Peggy Lee, Fever). The other came up blank: Enya's Orinoco Flow. Not a skateable rhythm at first hearing, although great on the dance floor. But we like a challenge, so we'll see what we can do with all that syncopation.
The Enya's hit or Enya in general, not so much.

Oh, I love it! But I won't let my partner see it. He's a respectable professor of trauma surgery on the job, and a certified nut-case off it. He'll want to do a skating version of that, playing Animal!
