I haven't heard any word on it yet. I am assuming it will go on as planned, unless they say otherwise.
Personally, I hope the event happens on Saturday as planned (or perhaps postponed to Sunday). Unless the officials believe it is unsafe for anyone in the arena. If that were the case, of course it is not worth anyone else getting hurt. Otherwise, I think it is right to carry on with the competition in this situation, because the skaters have been working very hard and have earned their places in this GP. It would be unfair to just use short program placements, since typically the placements can change a lot from SP to FS (at least in singles). This is just one competition, but in this case it matters for the GPF so it would be best to carry on if it is safe to do so.

One thing for French members: you may want to stock up on food and beverage essentials tomorrow as early as you can. We didn't get any food shipments into the city for about a week or so after 9/11, and there were enormous runs on markets. I couldn't get milk or bread for more than a week. Just something you might want to think about. And blessings be to all of you.

Exactly! For those of you from the US, you'll remember a former Fox News Anchor named Shepard Smith. He's gay which, is no big deal to most people and from what I heard, Fox didn't really care either. It was their advertisers who basically threatened the network and they caved. I heard the anchors were often given buzz words and phrases that were to be used during every broadcast.
Look up the phrase Fox News "No Go Zones" on youtube and you'll see what I mean. That actually had to issue an apology for lying about it. I'll try to post a clip.

I just hard on BBC, all the public places like museums and swimming pools etc. will be closed tomorrow in Paris. I won't be surprised if the competition is cancelled or held without the audiences.
I will respect whatever the federation decides, but I hope there will be enough care for French skaters. My dad's in Paris right now, he's meant to be back to Japan tomorrow and I'm pretty sure he's safely sleeping in his hotel, but it still frightens me to think he's there. Must be horrifying for French skaters to go on the ice knowing that their family or friends are in Paris.

I know that at least one of the major networks was planning on the TEB so the media provisions are already in place. As an fyi - this was one for Major League Baseball during the Baltimore riots this past summer and one network carried the game so those that were interested could watch.
I've heard he's already ALL OVER this on twitter or something

Whatever the decision is, I hope they check in with the athletes and at least get a sense of how they are dealing with this psychologically/emotionally. It's easy to say they should just go on with it but do you really think that skaters right now are getting any sleep with all of this is going on? There might also be skaters, coaches, and other support staff who may be worrying about friends and family since many are from France. And yes, athletes have dealt with tragedies in their personal life right before competitions and have found a way to continue but dealing with death and at the same time dealing with fear of unknown (including personal safety) is a whole other thing altogether.

Is it possible to even hold the remainder of the TEB competition when many volunteers and staff members may feel the need to rush home and make sure their families are ok?

Every mass shooting has been by a mentally ill person who was not helped in a society that cares the least for the disabled and especially mentally disabled.
Of my Channels I only have Fox covering it. Not the best news source I agree. But they are on social media jumping with glee and saying they did this Isis. It will be shown Muslim Jihadis organized this is the days that enfold. Let's bet a 1000 dollars peg. No one here on GS is yelling death to refugees or Muslims. But we are not stupid are we?
Let's not be in denial. And maybe we will find some French boys or men who joined in and have been radicalized. Again normal people do not do this. To be radicalized it takes a certain confused upset angry soul looking to belong to something powerful for even a moment. May God have mercy on them because the French will not per President Hollande.
