Patrick Chan

Vivley, I hope you'll be able to find some time to do some photochanning. :)

Have you heard?!!! ;) 4everchan is giving out prizes! Yay!!! :hap85:

Thanks! Work suddenly got busy, so it'll probably be this weekend before I can create more. But I did add yours to my post and tweeted it! :agree:

Can't wait to see what kind of prizes 4everchan will give out!

Ok I saw this on Twitter and I thought I should share it with you Chiddy lovers. :luv17:

Patrick is absolutely running away with the first place (men) in the Canadian National Rankings. Here's an explanation on how they calculate the points, the raw scores used (PDF), and all the men's rankings (PDF).

I'm wondering because it says, "Scores remain valid for 365 days" does that mean they will recalculate as the season goes on? Or will they update it a year from when the last results were entered? :scratch2: Well, unless one of the other guys suddenly develops some quad Lutz/quad flip/Chan-like PCS I don't think he's going to be overtaken so fast.

well... not only patrick has the highest scores but 2 of his come from ISU championships so they get factored by 1.2 compared to a guy like Nam whose top 3 scores where either at GP or Challenger Series.

The scores being kept for 365 days seems to mean that a score will expire and be replaced by the next eligible score... For instance, Nam's top score is from Skate Canada Autumn Classic. That score is about to expire soon.... let's say he scores big at US Challenger, his ranking total amount of points could improve (dropping Rostelecom) but then, as soon as the Autumn Classic score would expire, it would be removed, the next score being counted (Rostelecom)... this could provoke some small fluctuation in the ranking, especially in the second tier.

It seems simple to me if I actually got it right LOL , a bit like tennis....

Thanks for the explanation! :thank: Could lead to some interesting results with scores expiring but competitions happening later (as you describe).

the real fun part is that it rewards the more important events... so making the 4CC team now will be a much bigger deal if these rankings mean anything in real life ;)

I am actually wondering if they do. Because the participants of the NSS didn't all get rewarded as they were promised. And the ranking is a bit strange in that it doesn't divide junior and senior results. The junior boys are at a disadvantage due to the quad limitation in the SP. Then again, some skaters don't even have three marks so this ranking really is a work in progress. I guess it's a start?

hehe :) all my love goes to patrick :) but since he loves his fans, gets back here :):love::love:
4EVERCHAN,

Here's my suggestion, send out a full basket of LOVE to each of PhotoChan contesters as their prizes. I think they all will appreciate your love. :yes2::clapper:
