Patrick Chan

Closing. Tired skaters saluting and thanking the audience.

anyone know if they aired on tv or if there are videos of this show?:scratch2:

It is very frustrating to see photos or snippets of video but no program.

Be glad and grateful for the snippets and patient for the programs, grasshopper.

(OK, I never saw all those movies cool sayings and monikers come from, what as long as they sound cool ........:))

Hello!
I’ve been lurking for more than 2 years since Sochi Olympics, though never stopped rooting for him for a moment.

Last summer I went to see The Ice and became happy to find his popularity in Japan increasing.

But now he’s enjoying even more popularity with the crowd at SOI.
I saw the show in Tokyo on TV this weekend and they were whooping with delight throughout his ex version "Mack the Knife" .
A announcer said ”Loudest cheers arose!” and “His performance made everyone smile.”

According to many tweets from those who went to SOI in Japan, the audience extremely excited at his performance and some were struck with awe at his perfect command of the ice.
I think his extraordinary skating skill is now obvious to anyone and his showmanship has caught up with it.

Excuse me for my poor English, but I’d like everyone on this thread to know how he’s earned such admiration and popularity in Japan.

you are welcome to post in our celebratory thread of patrick's amazing skating anytime!!!!

thank you so much for sharing such positive comments with us from your experience in Japan. Japanese skating fans are well-known for their understanding of great skating and that's another proof of it!

I think that being away for almost two years, and going back at it, has perhaps put things in perspective in the skating world about what skating is all about. I am so happy he is getting more love than ever before. He deserved it years ago!

Welcome back, Aprilsnowy! I've missed you, our original Japan Bureau.

Thank you for your latest report. So happy for Patrick for the fulfillment of his wish to touch people's hearts and to bring something new and uplifting to figure skating. Well done Patrick. :2thumbs: Thank you Japan :thank: for being knowledgeable and appreciative. There are reasons why Patrick has been invited to perform in Japan on every possible occasion. Japan is playing the biggest role in the art and sport of figure skating today.

Thank you, AprilSnowy, and welcome back! I've been seeing all the compliments Japanese fans have been writing about Patrick on Twitter, and several said that his popularity is increasing, which is great!!

Speaking of Twitter, congratulations to Patrick for reaching 70,000 followers! :cheer::cheer:

Thank you for your warm welcome, 4everchan, calica, Violet Bliss, vivley!
Recently Patrick has been called 'King of Skating' on Japanese TV:biggrin:

I've been so grateful to Patrick for his returning to the competitive field.
His LP, especially performed in Taipei was definitely a masterpiece.

As I also love his SP, its ex version was a pleasant surprise.
I'm sure you'll enjoy it soon after SOI returns in Canada.
(Such a shame photos and movies are strictly forbidden at shows and competitions in Japan)

Thanks Aprisnowy for your nice comment , i am happy for him.
Yes, the only "bad" thing about shows in japan is that we can´t see the shows

i love the lovely tweets :

"Enjoyed @Pchiddy' s "Mack the Knife" at SOI on TV. But the rink looked so narrow. The crowd was whooping with delight during his performance"

Do you know he has also been called the Soul of Figure Skating? :2thumbs:

More nice comments about Patrick:

Then, in the SOI night performances today, "Mack the Knife" of Patrick Chan players venue was a big climax. Everyone I love, Patrick! It is a private university that felt the air that. Mack The Knife was happy because it was a professional who wanted to see live. Costume is was Rashika' costumes from the time of the competition (laughs).

Patrick CHAN, I couldn't believe it when you're riding on the ice edge is smooth, almost like I'm floating, the wife! Mack the knife, we're very fashionable!!

So you too noticed the rink is always too small for Patrick. When will the boards learn to get out of his way?!

After he hit against the boards during his LP in Boston , many skating fans in Japan tweeted the annoying boards should've been stepped aside!
We'd been so much looking forward to seeing him skate freely like he did in Taipei :(

Now I'm so happy he's probably enjoying his huge popularity in Japan.
Hope it will boost his confidence:cheer:
