darling
no need to preach
i am talking about your mention of the two quad SP and olympics... we are not yet there
one thing a time... as you say,Patrick is doing things cautiously. Next step is 4S landed.... and let's see if he is able to finish the FP with enough legs to keep his triples at the end. I will be happy with that for now. The two quad SP, will we see it this year???? Would that be on trial for Nationals? I mean, GPF is too soon for change the layout. Would that be on trial even at all this year? That's more where my comments were directed at
for me gradual with Patrick, as I am more conservative goals means
Finlandia : 3S placeholder with program debut
SC : attempts 4S : not landed
COC : lands 4S... let's see if the rest of the program remains clean
GPF : at better ease with both programs
Nationals : to try or not to try to increase BV : if yes, try 4S in SP
4CC : i think he will go since it's the test event for 2018.... Final decision on what layout to use for worlds
Worlds : peak of the season.
But sure, your enthusiasm may be more confident in the rate of increasing BV than mine
and that's fine. I know that we are the same when it comes to accepting Patrick's results. I think Patrick's fans have been through highs and lows and are very kind to Patrick. I am becoming more and more and more a fan as the years pass just because his skating is so gorgeous. I almost don't care where he ends in the pack.... I just want to see him skate well. I have never been a fan of skating shows, I by far, prefer competitive programs because I like to see all kinds of jumps and intricate designs.... so since Patrick's come back, I just rejoice.... no matter how many quads he does
I think we may all be surprised... who knows, maybe by nationals he will be doing a quad flip

I believe in positivity. Gains do not come from pains. Limiting beliefs do not generate but only limit success. Aim high so even under-achievement will not be low. Success comes with confidence.
Patrick's plan and strategies have always been gradual and incremental. In contrast to Hanyu, who includes all the ambitious elements in his programs from the beginning of the season, with hope to skate the ultimate perfect programs sometime during the season. He often does achieve this goal but not necessarily at Worlds at the end of the season. Patrick, OTOH, includes his newly acquired jump only after achieving a 80% success rate at practice, and raises his technical difficulty with adjusted choreography through the season, aiming to peak at the end of the season. He learns from the experience of each event and grows along his journey. He often peaks at the Canadian National with all home crowd support, but does very well at Worlds soon after.
Patrick's journey is cautious and organic in its nature by design. He is not reckless technically, mentally, nor with his health. Wishing him to succeed is not jinxing him or encouraging him to take undue risks or to become arrogant or complacent. I believe my hopes for him align with his mindset, plans, and goals. Aim high but don't be attached. I've always been the most accepting of all his results, n'est ce pas?
