Patrick Chan

So lcbo has his wine. I'll get it in Ottawa if they carry it and drink it during nationals. Woot.

GPG week! Time for Patrick fans to start cultivating positive energy to support him. Let's maintain the state of mind we wish for him - relaxed, focused, and confident.

Be happy!

thanks... written by a yuzu fan but still at least about Patrick (except for the photos LOL) !!! that's rare these days :) hahaha

what I find interesting here is that he did change the spins and footwork. Footwork sequences were only level 3... so i hope he can reach level 4... spins i think all but one were level 4 and he did already have good GOE... so i am curious to see what he's put in there... i find them already so nice.

And blogger : not true that Patrick and Javi have the same layout... Patrick is behind in the SP as Javi uses two quads. In the LP Javi uses the 1/2 loop-3S combo instead of the 2t-2l combo so gains a few more points over Patrick. However, if Patrick had one of the best half loop combo when it was on, he often ran out of steam and doubled the salchow... so he might as well do the 3Lz-2T-2L... it's a much nicer and more solid combo for him.

What I like here the best in the article is that Patrick keeps to his plan : "I have my own sets of goals and challenges..." He knows that reaching the top will only happen when he achieves his goals... he keeps working... I hope he gets more into his edge and lifts his 4S a tiny bit higher... that's all he needs to land it say the commentators and I cannot wait to see that jump landed for him!!!! (still will never understand why he didn't try the 4F because the salchow never was his best jump).

In any case, the blogger places Patrick 2nd, and Javi completely out of the podium...(yuzu first of course)... I am not sure about that... I think that the two quad in the SP people may have a harder time this time around... just a feeling... I wouldn't be surprised if the only two clean skaters in the SP were Patrick and Adam.... it will be exciting! Too bad I will be working for most of it... as the time difference with Europe is not so good for my lifestyle... i had less of an issue with the time difference in asia LOL.. just didn't sleep...

Looks like people in Toronto will get another chance to meet Patrick face to face and try his Ice Wine at LCBO beside Summerhill Station

Will not be making it because I have work during that time but I'm guessing he'll be in town to work with David again
edit: Actually don't have work but still can't make it

I was daydreaming about how to go to this event, until I remembered that I have a holiday concert to perform on the same day... :drama:

Thanks! That's a great article! He seems to do best when he doesn't pay too much attention to his surroundings and just concentrates on doing his own thing. I just rewatched his LP at COC, and he looked so relaxed and languid throughout the performance. Now I'm curious to see what "sharp, aggressive movements" look like in that program.

Anyway, here's my GPF preview:

Where the Blackbird Flies: Stop 4 – Marseille

At least I won't have to get up early or stay up late to watch Patrick skate this time!

tx vivley as always... guess what... i may be able to watch the SP live!!!! I'll have to run to work (hopefully the snow has melted so I can really run) but yeah... wow... i had given up on this but with the juniors competing, it pushes the senior right in my break for pairs and men's SP :) I'll miss the ladies the next day for sure but will get everything before ;) i will also miss the dance on saturday... but yeah... i thought I'd miss way more than that... and i hadn't bothered looking at the competiting schedule until i read your blog :) WOOT...

David Wilson has a new interview with TSL and talks about Patrick starting about here.

What's interesting is that David mentioned Patrick used to the quad flip here when talking about the top men and their quads.

Thanks, Krunchii! I'll see if I can do a transcript of his comments on my blog!

I humbly defer to happylife the typo queen extraordinaire.

Go Patrick Go week! Land that 4S and all the other jumps, Patrick!

(I always type 4F instead of 4S as Patrick's new quad. These days I'm aware and usually correct it before posting but I wonder what makes me do it, 100% of the time.)

:) Your post makes me fell good and forget the storm we have in my city and the snow I get in my driveway, wish you guys would come and help!

I would if I could. We certainly don't want you to hurt yourself walking on the snow and ice! :p

Patrick Chan tries to keep it cool ahead of Grand Prix final

Well, technically Nathan is #25, but whatever...

Chan paused on a recent conference call when asked whether he believes he can win in Marseilles.

“Well, I didn’t really go into either of my Grand Prixs, especially Cup of China, with any expectation to win,” he said. “At this point in my career, if I’m doing it for the results, if I’m doing it for winning as many gold medals as possible, I’m setting myself up for failure."

I did it again! What a shame! :o:

Well, I think I was too tired from clearing the snow on my driveway. Good thing is I got it done for NOW. :yahoo:

Viv, I didn't hurt my myself walking on the snow and ice but I FEEL very good after my driveway is completely free of snow.
