Plushenko's Return

PS: I finally found the time to read, in its entirety, the link that let's talk posted up above. I loved it! But what specifically stood out to me, as a fan of fashion as well, was Evgeni's mention of his (& a Swiss firm, perhaps Swatch?) January 2012 release of a series of watches, of which Evgeni personally designed one that is blue & gold (blue=ice, gold=medals, lol). :D Seriously, I cannot wait to see what it looks like. But what I'm even more excited about is his mention of being in talks with Dolce & Gabbana to design his costumes! Oooh La La. First Charlotte Casiraghi with Gucci, and now perhaps Evgeni Plushenko with D&G. I would be over the moon if this was to materialize... http://www.life.com/celebrity-pictures/88594506/dolce-gabbana-milan-mens-fashion-week-ss-2010 (bring back some old world glamour, style, and elegance)

One more thing caught my attention, Evgeni's obvious excitement about the inclusion of the Team Event! I feel the same exact way, and am hopeful that one day it may actually overshadow the singles events, the same way the Team Event has been held in such a high regard in gymnastics over many decades. Every body has to do their part, not just one, success is built on each player doing their part, like the swim relay, which means the TEAM has to be strong in Mens, Ladies, Pairs, and Ice Dance. Ahhhhh!!!! I wonder whom will be the strongest T-E-A-M by the time Sochi comes round.

Huge understatement, let's talk, and I am *not* being facetious.

I just came from Ulysse Nardin's extraordinary site: http://www.ulysse-nardin.ch/ , as I wanted to find out more about Zhenya's specially designed series of watches, which are to make their debut next month ( http://www.ulysse-nardin.ch/en/swis...lyushchenko_to_Ulysse_Nardin_Manufacture.html ). And holy cow, I couldn't believe their prices!

Seriously, I fell in love with their Ladies "Golden Dream" watch ( http://www.ulysse-nardin.ch/en/swiss_watch_manufacturer/Collection/Ladies_watches/Golden_Dream.html ), and was thinking of purchasing one, but when I set out to find the retail price it was $22,800. Blimey, I can't afford that much, lol. (8^O

That said, I absolutely looooooooooooove the fact that Evgeni was very selective, did his research, visited their offices, et al, before finally deciding to agree to represent them as their Ambassador. And to have his own line of watches, just incredible!

What a perfect match, couldn't be better ~ both superb representatives of what they do ~ and the history each has is incredible. No wonder they chose Evgeni Plushenko, it's only logical.

But more than all else I am happy that Zhenya is seeing his dream become reality. Like him, his watches will be masterpieces, works of art!

BRAVO, ZHENYA, BRAVO!!!! *kisses* :points:

Such a great thread...I am just wondering who loves Plush the most? Seniorita or Nadine? You two must travel together to Russia all the time, LOL.

Neither, his wife loves him the most.

As for traveling, never, though I made a deal with my 14 yr. old baby niece that if Zhenya makes it to Sochi, we'll be there; this said the very night he made history on February 18th, 2010, becoming only the second man in history to have medalled in 3 Olympiads (Gillis Grafstrom holds the record at 4). Despite my fear of flying, I promised.

By the way, does anyone know when the Nikolai Panin Memorial is scheduled to take place? I've looked everywhere, even here on GS, and couldn't find the date. I'm asking because Zhenya states he might be there...

Panin Memorial will take place next week, from 13 to 16 of December. I don´t know if Plushy will be there though.
It seems he´ll skate to Vivaldi, for the SP. Here are 2 interviews with Mishin, you can also see Plushy training his new programs. Don´t ask me what Mishin says.

Plush is on the list of Panin Memorial, as well as Artur. But it's not clear yet if he skates there or not.

Just crying for Mao (also my aunt was rushed to the hospital last night due to internal bleeding, thank goodness she was discharged this morning though).

Back to Evgeni, thanks you two for the latest info. The first thing that came to mind when I saw Vivaldi was Surya Bonaly's beautiful & determined program to this at the 1994 Olympics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmXdnxWaTCU

I think Nadine beats me to that :) She is always so 100% enthusiastic, I believe Plu should meet her and he will comeback for her alone.

I´ve read a report on Plushy´s site. They say he has brand new sparkling costumes and he´s preparing for Russian Nationals.:agree::thumbsup:

What a lovely completely stretched-out line in that camel spin. I think I am becoming a fan. I can just hear "Uncle Dick" talking about it.

If he can do a program of those beautiful towering triples and some interesting choreography, I could care less about the quad. He's already given us enough of those. I'm actually eager to see him again and I've never been much of a fan. (Give me Yagudin or give me death, was my attitude.)

I'm really looking forward to his return -will definitely add some drama to the season. I hope though his new costumes aren't toooooo sparkly ;)

I hope too but the sekret sources say the costumes are very sparkly.... Maybe it´s just a rumour to intimidate the "enemies". ;)

I know Plushy can´t win without quads but I wish he remains quadless (aka, female ballet dancer ). I just want to see some nice programs.

Well, if Plushy is coming back without quads, why not Yagudin? I think he's still doing triples in shows. I would love to see him compete again!

Yagudin doesn´t have all triples. I think his hip problem prevents him from jumping some of the triple jumps. But I would like to have him back, he could jump only doubles, I don´t care!:yes:
