Random Confessions

When watching a competition, I occasionally will here the commentators say things I've read on here.

The thing is, this skater is being seen in a bad light because they fell out with another skater. And that other skater has taken it badly, and so started spreading rumours about the first skater to get back at them. (No prizes for working out that this second skater is a teenage girl).

But, because the first skater does not want to say anything bad about the second skater, we are only hearing the latter skater's side of the story.

So, given that they are being so honourable about this other skater, I don't think they are the sort of person to report posts behind a veil.

So did I! But, it seems there are quite a few parents of skaters on here. Some make themselves known, others do not.

And I should add - although I refer to the skaters that I run Fan Fests for as "my children", I don't have any children in real life.

Let me tell you a story for my latest confession.

A bit of background first.

Last season, there was a competition where 2 skaters from the same country were competing against each other for the first time.

I often feel like Nancy Drew trying to figure out the mysteries in some of your cryptic posts  I guess that's my confession for today. (But I really want to try to figure this one out myself for awhile - you don't have to PM me ;) )

I wouldn't even bother trying to work it out. It's two Junior skaters from an obscure skating country. And I didn't see the point in naming them, as most of you wouldn't be familiar with them anyway.

Some of us like obscure country skaters ;)

True. But it still wouldn't be fair to name them in this thread. Or to reveal the username of the older skater's mother.

Anyway, getting back to a previous random confession.

You know that TV programme that I was talking about earlier in the thread. Well, when looking through the TV paper on Saturday morning to see if anything was on that night (Saturday evening TV is awful at the moment), I accidentally discovered that RTÉ are showing Series 3 at the moment!!!

:cheer:   :party2: :hb: :points:

Admittedly, I have missed the first 5 episodes, and it does seem to be the sort of programme that you really need to see every episode to keep up with the story. So, I'm going to tape them and keep them so that I can watch them whenever I find somewhere showing those 5 episodes I missed.

When watching a competition, I occasionally will here the commentators say things I've read on here.

Especially Nicky Slater.

There were loads of times last season when he was commentating and I was thinking "he's just said something that I read in this thread". And there were even a couple of times when he repeated something I had wrote!

So, I am convinced that Nicky for one is on here.

After this weekend with big event with super ladies at Russian Junior Nationals, I'll finally rest of figure skating till Worlds! :yahoo:

I can't drink coffee. My stomach can not handle it. I used to faint and have cold sweats after drinking coffee.

You're probably sensitive to caffeine which induces a rise in insulin to deplete your blood sugar, creating a hypoglycemic condition, especially if you drink the coffee with an empty stomach. Some food or sweet would help to curb the symptoms. Less strong coffee with some sugar, something sweet, will likely prevent or reduce the reaction. Do you have the same reaction to decaf coffee?

I have never drank decaf coffee. I often get sweet tea at starbuck.

Or what about the EYOF, which starts on Tuesday.

One of the skaters I have adopted is competing in it, so I am hoping that we will get coverage.

Didn't realise that Russian Juniors was this week. Now I'm torn over switching to it tomorrow or continuing with the Universiade. :drama:
